Nature house in Nunspeet

As mentioned above, this cottage didn’t feel like a nature house because of the highway and the grounds it was situated on. Also, the ceiling in the loft where the bed was located turned out to be very low—a maximum of 1.70 m. It would have been nice if this had been mentioned in the description, especially for my husband, who is 1.94 m tall.
The cottage was nicely decorated, but not very clean. There were a lot of cobwebs, and the shower was also a bit dirty. There was a drawer with glasses, three of which were broken. The glass was lying in the corner of the drawer. I sent the owners a message about this but didn’t hear back.

Unfortunately, we didn’t feel very welcome either. Renting out bikes and scooters is clearly their core business. We were barely greeted; the first thing they said was: “ “Can you park over there? You’re not parked properly here,” instead of: “Welcome, how was your trip?” The day before check-out, the place was packed, and it turned out the owner thought we had already left; on the day of departure, they were so busy that they didn’t even say hello.

Zoals boven genoemd voelde dit huisje niet als een natuurhuisje door de snelweg en het terrein waarop het stond. Ook bleek het plafond van de vide waar het bed stond wel erg laag, max. 1.70 m. Het was fijn geweest als dit in de beschrijving had gestaan. Zeker voor mijn man van 1.94.
Het huisje was mooi ingericht, maar niet erg schoon. Veel spinnenwebben en de douche was ook wat viezig. Er was een lade met glazen, waarvan er drie kapot waren. Het glas lag in de hoek van de la. Ik heb de eigenaars hierover een bericht gestuurd en daarop niets gehoord.

Helaas voelden we ons ook niet erg welkom. De verhuur van de bikes en scooters is duidelijk hun core business. Wij werden nauwelijks begroet, het eerste contact bestond uit:’ kunt u daar parkeren, hier staat u niet goed’ in plaats van : ‘ Welkom, hoe was jullie reis?’ De dag voor uitchecken stond alles vol en bleek dat de eigenaar dacht dat we al weg waren en op de dag van vertrek hadden ze het zo druk dat er ook niet gegroet werd.

We could hear the highway when we were sitting on the patio. It was quiet inside, but for a nature house, we still found this annoying. The house is located on the grounds of an e-scooter and fat bike rental company. You have to drive down a carpool lane and then through a gate with a code. The grounds are crowded and cluttered, with lots of people walking around. The cottage is located at the back of the property, where it is indeed quiet, but the entrance feels very uninviting and certainly not natural. The surroundings are very beautiful, though you have to go a bit further away from the highway to truly experience the peace and quiet.

We konden de snelweg horen als we op het terras zaten. Binnen was het stil, maar voor een natuurhuisje vonden we dit toch ergerlijk. Het huisje ligt op het terrein van een E-scooter en fatbike verhuurbedrijf. Je moet over een carpoolstrook en dan door een hek met code. Op het terrein is het vol en rommelig en er lopen veel mensen. Het huisje staat achterop het terrein en daar is er wel rust, maar de entree voelt heel ongezellig en zeker niet natuurlijk. De omgeving is wel erg mooi, al moet je even wat verder van de snelweg gaan om ook de rust te ervaren.

Everything you need is there, including the kitchen. Air conditioning works perfectly (during heat wave!) Beds are made and there are towels and kitchen towels. There are some games, the couch is nice, you can sit outside with lots of privacy under the canopy, there is a large refrigerator and a freezer with 3 drawers (which, however, can not open completely because the freezer door comes against the steps). The bed upstairs is indeed a somewhat soft mattress, but I slept wonderfully on it. The upstairs bedroom has a headroom of 170 cm. The earlier reviews were correct in that there are a number of things that are not quite up to standard, in particular overdue maintenance to the kitchen/bathroom (kitchen faucet, freezer door, shower head, shower door). Location is a bit difficult to find: the driveway is unpaved, at the end of the carpool. Good to know: the yard is unpaved, there are large (but very sweet) dogs in the yard and to the kitchen you have to go down 3 steps .

Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig, ook in de keuken. Airco doet het perfect (tijdens hittegolf!).
Bedden zijn opgemaakt en er zijn handdoeken en keukendoeken. Er liggen wat spelletjes, de bank is fijn, je kunt buiten met veel privacy onder de overkapping zitten, er is een grote koelkast en een vriezer met 3 lades (die echter niet helemaal open kunnen doordat de vriezerdeur tegen het trapje aan komt). Het bed boven is inderdaad een wat zacht matras, maar ik heb er heerlijk op geslapen. Slaapkamer boven heeft stahoogte van 170 cm.
Wel kloppen de eerdere reviews dat er een aantal zaken niet helemaal op orde zijn, m.n. achterstallig onderhoud aan keuken/badkamer (keukenkraan, vriezerdeur , douchekop, deur douchecabine).
Locatie is wat lastig te vinden: de inrit is onverhard, aan het uiteinde van de carpool. Goed om te weten: het erf is onverhard, er zijn grote (maar erg lieve) honden op het erf en naar de keuken moet je een trapje van 3 treden af .

You are really away from the crowds, only the highway is nearby, you can hear it when you are sitting outside. I personally wasn't bothered by that.

Je bent echt weg van de drukte, alleen is de snelweg vlakbij, die hoor je als je buiten zit. Ik had persoonlijk daar geen last van.
