This nature house is originally a so-called soldier's cottage and was built in the early 1900s. A small house for the soldier and his family. The original construction consists of the current living and bedroom downstairs, the staircase and where the wood stove is located in the current living kitchen. The living room is furnished including two two-seater sofas and a bookcase with Swedish-Scandinavian-Dutch literature and detectives. Downstairs is 1 bedroom, upstairs 2. The latter are attractive for children because of their secure character and less accessible for tall people. In the large living kitchen there are - in addition to the dining table and chairs - an original Swedish kitchen bench and the wood stove. The original, natural stone staircase is difficult to access for people, who do not have good mobility.The bathroom is small and simple.There is no Wifi.
Nature and surroundings
Our house is located 2.5 kilometers northwest of Markaryd in the hamlet of Åmot. Markaryd is located in the extreme southwestern part of (landskap) Småland, bordering Halland and Skåne. In the village you will find all kinds of amenities, such as supermarkets, banks, health centers, pharmacy, etc. Nearby are all kinds of activities, including the Elk Safari Park, the IKEA museum in Älmhult, a canoe rental business, toy museum Brio in Osby/Brio store, Glass Museum/Utvaranda Museum Växjö, Linnés Råshult: the birthplace of Linnaeus, etc. There are restaurants in all price ranges, pizzerias and a konditori. Larger cities/beautiful towns:Laholm (30 minutes away), Hässleholm (45 minutes) , Kristianstad (60 minutes), Halmstad (60 minutes), Helsingborg (60 minutes), Båstad and surroundings (60 minutes), Växjö (70 minutes). From Helsingborg (on the west coast) you can take a pedestrian ferry to Helsingør (on the east coast of Denmark).
