Want to enjoy the real outdoors or just retreat to a nice, quiet place for a few days? You can! Because in Het Lage Noorden we have two comfortable fully detached cabins of about 40m2: romney cabins with private bathroom, with a fully equipped kitchenette (with refrigerator, two burner induction hob, Nespresso machine, kettle and filter coffee), good beds, cozy pellet stove and well insulated, so comfortable all year round! And of course including bed, bath and kitchen linen. Bring books, walking shoes, binoculars and a box full of goodies, and you won't have to leave. And oh yes, also a chance of Northern Lights, deer at your window or a stray kingfisher. And how about a night garden / vegetable garden / fruit trees / moose ducks / free-range chickens / mini sheep and lots of other animals and plants because we're high on biodiversity. Too quiet? Then ring the bell for a good cup of coffee or a nice exhibition in our canteen.
Nature and surroundings
On the northern edge of Friesland lies this beautiful place. Here the sea dike and the Noorderleeg separate the land from the Wadden Sea. Not for nothing Unesco World Heritage! You step right onto the sea dike for a walk in the salt marsh. One of the darkest places in the Netherlands, here you can see the Milky Way, the most beautiful sunsets and occasionally even the Northern Lights. Bike route node 1 is right on your doorstep. Besides vastness, you'll also find beautiful landscape art by Sense of Place and fine thrift shops and food straight from the farmer. So this is the outdoors. But if you still want some action; our terrace is nearby, Dokkum and Leeuwarden are at 15 km, and from Holwerd (10km) you are on Ameland! And if you come by public transport, please let us know and we will gladly pick you up at the bus stop in Marrum.

Nature, peace & environment:een heel mooie, rustige plek aan het Friese Wad. Je hoort de vogels , de schapen en lammetjes, en af en toe een trekker.

Wilbert February 11, 2022 General rating:We hebben een perfect verblijf gehad en een hele fijne tijd in Friesland! Het huisje was van alle gemakken voorzien en omgeven door mooie natuur.
Nature, peace & environment:Wij hebben heerlijk buitendijks gewandeld op het wad, naar de Terp van de Toekomst en ook naar NP Lauwersmeer geweest.
