This nature house is located in the beautiful Bohinj valley, on the edge of the Triglav National Park. The spacious (80 m2) apartment is new and completely furnished in a place where previously an old barn stood. It is surrounded by a large (1500 m2) garden (grass with some fruit trees) that borders a stream with waterfalls in which children can play safely. In the garden is also a 2-story tree house and two beautiful terraces above the stream. The nature house is located on the outskirts of the village of Jereka with 50 houses located 7 km from the quiet Lake Bohinj, the largest lake in Slovenia, about 30 km from Bled.
Nature and surroundings
The Bohinj Valley is a glacial valley running eastward from the Julian Alps. It is surrounded by high mountains of which the Triglav (over 2800 m) is the highest. The calcareous soil offers rich flora in spring and early summer including a few species of orchids. There are many beautiful waterfalls in this valley and beautiful viewpoints. The nature house is right on the 270 km Julian Alps Trail, a popular hiking trail through northwestern Slovenia and far eastern Italy (Tarvisio).
