Cottage under the Linden is located in the rural area of Munnekeburen in southern Friesland. The cottage Tjonger has a nice kitchen with refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. You have a beautiful view of the deep garden from the living room with the huge glass front. We are a B&B so breakfast is included! The Tjonger has a bedroom suitable for 2 persons with excellent box springs. There is a bunk bed in a kind of corridor so you can stay with 4 people in this apartment. The living room has nice reused, refurbished furniture. Needless to say, there is a lovely bathroom. Linen and bath towels are included in the price. If the guests wish, we can serve a 3-course menu in the B&B, taking into account any dietary needs. For longer stays, we can do the laundry for you. There is also a possibility to charge your (electric) car in front of the door.
Nature and surroundings
Munnekeburen is a lovely quiet village. Our cottage is located at the entrance of the beautiful nature reserve "The Rottige Meente" you can enjoy walking, cycling. There are many different birds, butterflies. If you are lucky you can see deer and there are even otters in the Rottige Meente. Well known is the foresters path (Staatsbosbeheer) where you walk about 15 -20 kilometers, also around the Brandemeer. Many people who walk the Zuiderzee path know where to find us. The Stellingenpad, named hiking trail of the year in 2023, also runs through the Rottige Meente, and the Weerribben, which more people have heard of, is only 8 kilometers away. There, too, it's great hiking. But also a nice boat trip (Staatsbosbeheer) is possible. Or rent your own boat or canoe and explore the area. By bike there are just as many possibilities. Paul, one of the owners himself a keen cyclist, will gladly tell you about all the possibilities you have to explore the area by bike.
