We welcome you to our wonderfully spacious vacation home. The front house of our farm has been converted since 2004 into what it is today: a large (over 275m2) and very comfortable 12-14 person vacation home that quickly feels like home. The house has a large very complete kitchen, pantry, living room with wood stove, separate toilet downstairs, 6 bedrooms (2 downstairs, 4 upstairs) and 2 bathrooms (1 downstairs with large bath, double sink, shower and toilet and 1 upstairs with sink, shower and toilet). In 5 spacious bedrooms there are double box springs that can be placed in double or 2x single positions as desired and in 2 rooms there is a third bed. In the 6th (smallest) room there is a small double bed (1.40). The large garden has 2 terraces and enough place to relax, eat outside, sit around a fire or play/activity. The two of us and our animals live at the back of the farmhouse, everything is separate and privacy assured.
Nature and surroundings
Enjoy peace, quiet, wide views of beautiful nature, for this you have come to the right place. The deer literally walk in front of the door and you walk straight into the woods! The house is located in national park the Drents Friese Wold with over 6000 hectares after the Hoge Veluwe the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands. Oude Willem is an old agricultural enclave that runs through the national park and now designated as a Natura 2000 area. The old fields/pastures are thus returned to nature and are now mainly grazed by deer, a herd of sheep or mowed for natural hay. The Drents Friese Woud is more than just forest. You wander from sand drifts, to fens, from heather to marshes. The national park is excellent for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and forest bathing (shinrin-yoku). There is even a barefoot trail!
