A small (65 square meters) new nature house, recently built, and located on the side of a mountain, with a view of the sea, sun all year round and water from a mountain spring. It lies next to our stone barn along a dirt driveway. The living part of the house is all on one floor, with one great room, kitchen / living room combined; one bathroom with bathtub, walk-in shower and toilet; a small "office" area; an exercise area, a bedroom area (with King-size bed) and an open loft (with 2 single beds). Simple furnishings. Screens in all windows. We cultivate lavender and produce essential lavender oil according to traditional methods. In addition, we maintain a small garden and a small fruit tree orchard. Everything is no-till, no fertiliser, no pesticides, and as close to Mr. Fukuoka's teachings, "One Straw Revolution," as possible. There are bee hives on the property. Not suitable for people allergic to bees or wasps. Welcome!
Nature and surroundings
Butted up against an ancient chestnut forest with many walking trails, this house is within biking distance to a clean river with natural swimming holes; an easy drive up (50 minutes) to hiking in the Maritime Alps; or down (50 minutes) for a dip in the sea. Several medieval villages within hiking / biking range. No lights at night, the stars are thick. Benvenuti! **Special note: the road from Castel Vittorio parking lot to the Cottage is a Comunal Road, not a Provincial road: it is single lane, few guard rails, and 4 hair-pin turns. It is paved, and a little scary the first time up. Not suitable for caravans or mobile homes. We will be happy to meet you in the parking lot and drive up together for your first time to show you country road driving etiquette and safety tips. Again, bienvenue !
