Nature house in Gemmenich

In the middle of the greenery, right at the edge of the forest lies this simple, cozy cottage in the 'Ardenne Bleue'. In this French-speaking part of Belgium, you immediately feel on vacation. Literally a stone's throw from the Vijlenerbos you will find peace and quiet. Walk until you weigh an ounce, mountain bike away. Or ... take a nap in the shade under the trees. Hot summer? The air conditioning offers cooling. In winter, cozy up to the wood stove. Curl up on the couch and continue reading your book. Pour some goodies: wine, tea, beer, soda. Upon arrival, the beds are made and bath and kitchen linen is of course ready. In the kitchen you will find various herbs and spices, tea, coffee, sugar, honey. Organic and / or from the region. The first photo is the view from the side and back. From the garden you walk straight into the forest. Walk or bike to Sippenaeken, Vaals, Vijlen or Aachen. Along the way you come across nice restaurants that you (and your four-legged friend) like to receive for coffee, lunch, drinks or dinner. In the center of the village of Gemmenich you will find a delicious bakery, a butcher and the fantastic 'quincaillerie' (sort of combination of Blokker and Hubo) of the family Herzet. Also a pharmacy, the village supermarket and - of course - Dany's Friterie du Village. In Gemmenich, French is the official language. But they also love to speak Dutch here. For language lovers: Gemmenich has its own dialect: a mixture of German, Limburgish and a touch of French. So here you are in the Three Countries region! Cozy villages, beautiful cities; also there you are in no time. By car you are in 10 minutes in Vaals, in 20 in Aachen, as in Gulpen. In an hour you are in Cologne and Maastricht and Liege can be reached in 45 minutes.
