Especially attractive nature house on the water in the middle of the Frisian meadows! No nonsense. Small inside, but great outside. The cottage has its own access ( you don't have to cross our yard ) consists of one room with a double bed and dining area. In the mobile homes next to the cottage is a private kitchen, toilet, shower with hot water. No luxury, but fully equipped. The cottage with French doors, has a private terrace with wood stove and barbecue, garden and a jetty, so you can take a refreshing dip at any time of day or take the canoe to enjoy the water. (The canoe is included with the cottage). From the terrace you can watch the sun set and enjoy the most fantastic Frisian evening skies.

Our nature house is located in the middle of the Frisian meadows, yet super central two kilometers from Leeuwarden, one kilometer from Deinum (has a train station) and one kilometer from Marsum. In addition, you are near Franeker (17 kilometers) and 22 kilometers from Harlingen. For years we camped with a converted van with awning but as 60-plus we were looking for something similar but without heavy physical labor. This place was a hit! We had our own idyllic little outdoor area, with private access to the (swimming) water, an excellent romantic and beautiful sleeping cottage and a personal super clean laundry, peeing and dishwashing van. When you camp you are outside a lot and that was the case here. Otherwise all the privacy, so totally fine. We did not use the Canadian canoe because we were still a bit cold (never done that before), but next time we will pull ourselves together and use that too. We had rented bikes with it but still needed the car for groceries, because that couldn't be done any closer than in Leeuwarden. That would be bikeable too though, but a lot along a busy road, as far as we figured out. Spacious refrigerator, so what you buy you can all lose
Precies wat we zochten. We hebben jaren gekampeerd met een verbouwd busje met voortent maar als 60-plussers zochten we iets soortgelijks maar dan zonder zware lichamelijke arbeid. Dit plekje was een schot in de roos! We hadden ons eigen idyllische buitenterreintje, met privé-toegang tot het (zwem)water, een uitstekend romantisch en mooi slaaphuisje en een persoonlijke superschone was-, plas- en afwaswagen. Als je kampeert ben je veel buiten en dat was hier ook zo. Verder alle privacy, dus helemaal fijn. We hebben de Canadese kano niet gebruikt omdat we nog wat koudwatervrees hadden (nog nooit gedaan), maar een volgende keer vermannen we ons en maken we ook daar gebruik van. We hadden fietsen erbij gehuurd maar hadden toch de auto nodig voor boodschappen, want dat kon niet dichterbij dan in Leeuwarden. Dat zou ook te fietsen zijn hoor, maar veel langs een drukke weg, voor zover wij uit hadden gezocht. Ruim koelkast, dus wat je inkoopt kan je allemaal kwijt
