Ideally situated in the heart of the ‘Grande Champagne’ where the aged spirit of Cognac is made and opportunities to explore are abundant, lies a 19th century traditional pigeonnier gite in the rural hamlet of Verrieres. Newly renovated for the beginning of 2021 to provide a spacious fully air conditioned one bedroom open plan gite. Everything has been designed for your comfort with a sprinkling of luxury for you to delight in, a perfect choice to celebrate any special occasion or just relax. This luxurious accommodation is the perfect romantic treat, offering an idyllic get away from the daily hustle & bustle, allowing you to immerse yourselves in all that the beautiful Charente region of France has to share. If you prefer a peaceful stay or a change of scenery to work during lockdown with no interruptions whilst enjoying the view over the vines this makes an ideal retreat. There is a free 5G wifi box and access to print services if required.
Nature and surroundings
Set in the countryside with many beautiful countryside walks right on your doorstep, the location is great to share with your furry companions. The owners would kindly request that you contact them if you would like to arrange to bring your dog. Dog sitting/walking services are available on request for an additional fee. The gite is set in a small hamlet where traffic is minimal with access to the local shop just 2km. The towns of Archiac 6km, Segonzac 10km and Cognac 20km where there are weekly markets & supermarkets, as well of plenty of activities to do. A little further away you will find the city of Bordeaux, famous for its wine or there is the beautiful port of La Rochelle and the beaches at Royan, all within an hours drive. For all those wine lovers then St Emilion is definitely worth a visit - a charming medieval village, it is a UNESCO heritage site where you will find world-famous wineries, fine wine, beautiful architecture and great monuments.
