Our forest cottage is on a small vacation park. A park without bells and whistles (pool ed). We are exactly between Ermelo and Harderwijk, both 3 km. You walk or cycle from the cottage in all directions. Staying at home is not a punishment because there is a large beautifully landscaped garden. The cottage itself is simple but fully equipped. Two good single beds and a small bathroom with shower and raised toilet. We have deliberately NO wifi. We do have a DVD player and beautiful DVDs, very old-fashioned; but perhaps a helping hand if you really want some peace and quiet and want to detox from the internet. Via Digitenne we have TV. NB. In 2024 there is a new floor and kitchen in the cottage. In the summer of 2025 we renew the terrace.
Nature and surroundings
As mentioned, the cottage is on the outside of the park. From our garden you walk straight into the forest. You can walk and cycle in all directions. Especially the Beekhuizerzand is beautiful. From the Oostvaarders Plassen in the north to the Leuvenemse woods and heathland in the south, you can enjoy walking and / or cycling. In the barn are two bikes.Culture.Harderwijk is a beautiful town to visit. The historic center and beautiful boulevard with div. fish restaurants. The painter Marius van Dokkum has his own museum.Also the North-West Veluwe Museum in Nunspeet is worth visiting.Always beautiful exhibitions and a permanent collection of artists from the Nunspeet artist colony.A little further away are Amersfoort (25 km) with city walks and Zwolle (40 km). Museum De Fundatie.

The garden looks nice, with plenty of seating areas. The cottage is fully furnished. The bench in the room is not comfortable, maw sits for no meter. The kitchen was neat and complete. The bedroom is large enough but the mattresses have long had their best time. The comforters and pillows were filthy ( luckily brought your own ) all in all very bad sleep..... The bathroom is very small and I can't shave wet there.
De tuin ziet er fijn uit, met genoeg zitplekjes.
Het huisje is compleet ingericht. Het bankje in de kamer zit niet comfortabel, maw zit voor geen meter.
Het keukenblok was keurig en compleet.
De slaapkamer is groot genoeg maar de matrassen hebben hun beste tijd al lang gehad. De dekbedden en kussens waren smoezelig ( gelukkig zelf meegenomen ) al met al zeer slecht geslapen.....
De badkamer is erg klein en kan mij daar niet nat scheren.The cottage is beautifully located on the edge of the forest.The park in contrast was underwhelming. Lots of clutter etc around.
