This nature house has a cozy sunny living room overlooking the garden. It is attached to our residential house, with its own entrance. The kitchen is equipped with a combination microwave, gas stove and refrigerator. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom has been updated with a shower, sink and toilet. The cottage has a private terrace and all around there is more (!) than enough space to sit in peace on a garden chair, relax in the greenery, spot deer and other animals, make a campfire, bbq and enjoy. It is in a 1.5-hectare garden/forest that we are in the process of turning into a food forest. This following a plan, in which we enhance nature, do plant a lot of trees, but 'intervene' as little as possible. Feel free to pick and taste the fruit trees, berry bushes and herbs! In addition to this cottage, we rent another cottage and a mobile home.
Nature and surroundings
On the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella.... on a quiet sandy path on the green border between Nijmegen and Malden lies our 'Vogeltjesbos'. Here we are surrounded by many beautiful innovative initiatives that connect nature and agriculture (Stadslandbouw Kop van Malden). From here you can walk endlessly through the forest to, for example, the hills near Groesbeek, the Mookerhei or the Reichswald. And by bike or bus (stop around the corner) you are in no time in the center of Nijmegen with nice cafes, stores, museums, the Waalkade etc. We are adjacent to several hiking, cycling and mountain biking routes. Highly recommended is the Walk of Wisdom, a pilgrimage route of 136 kilometers around Nijmegen that you can walk in stages. Also special about the area are the (4) food forests that have been created. At our place we are also creating a food forest for people and animals to enjoy.
