Under architecture underlands built home equipped with all the luxuries. Very special and certainly for design lovers something to enjoy. These homes added to the Barracks are of high quality and offer you a lot of privacy. As part of Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie, these luxury Fortlodges were built in 2016 and now offer you fantastic accommodation. The Fortlodge is rented including bedding and linen for short-stay.
Nature and surroundings
It is a fort that is part of the New Dutch Waterline, and is located in Vuren in the municipality of West Betuwe in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The fort was built in 1844 on the Waaldijk, it served to protect Gorinchem and to prevent the enemy from moving west. In 1847-1849, a bombproof tower was built on top of the fort. A moat was dug around the tower, after which it could only be reached by a drawbridge. In 1873-1879, the bombproof tower was partially demolished because it was too vulnerable. The top floor was removed and the contrescarp gallery was added. The tower fort, contrescarp gallery and barracks housed up to 420 men and 30 pieces of artillery. The fort at Vuren would be used during the various mobilizations and suffered a German air attack in 1940. It remained in German hands until the final days before liberation and would thereafter serve to protect various "error

Prachtig verblijf in deze bunker, super gerenoveerd echt onwijs mooi. We komen sowieso nog eens terug.
Jammer dat je niet echt wordt ontvangen, of dag gezegd.
Er moet wel echt iets gedaan worden aan de deur met het verblijf ernaast. Je hoort alles van elkaar.
Van het ontbijt hadden we wat meer verwacht.Prachtige omgeving

Mooie lodge, prachtig ingericht en het uitzicht vanuit de badkamer is echt fantastisch. Vriendelijk ontvangst, ook in coronaire. Enig minpuntje is dat je in de woonkamer de buren hoort.
Heerlijke omgeving. Prachtig fort en vlakbij de Waal.

Een echte ervaring om in zo'n oud fort te slapen. Prachtige lodges gemaakt, volledig ingericht. Uniek. Interieur goed aangepast aan de omgeving van bunkers, lekker stoer. Echt goed gelukt. Klinkt wel wat hol.
Prachtige omgeving, De Bommelerwaard, Slot Loevestein en een heel leuk vestingstadje Gorinchem. Heerlijk langs de Waal vertoeven.
