Chios is still one of the most unspoiled islands of Greece! The traditional village of Volissos is built like an amphitheater under a medieval castle. All the houses of the village overlook the blue waters of the Aegean Sea. This beautiful village has only 350 inhabitants. The house is about 2 km away from a small port and the beaches of Lefkathia and Limnos, both of which have a beach bar (sun loungers and umbrellas free of charge). A little further away is the 6 km long beach of Managros, where even in August it is easy to find a quiet spot to take a dip in the sea or laze on the beach. Besides the two small supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher (open only on Sundays), and even a candle-making shop, 3x a week a greengrocer and a fishmonger come by and sell their wares from a pick-up. There is a pharmacy, doctor's office (24/7) and an ATM. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised by Chios and peaceful Volissos!
