In the center of the former island of Walcheren you can rent this converted carriage house . It is a beautiful spacious ground-floor vacation home with all conveniences. The house includes a sitting area with a corner sofa and a spacious dining area. The open kitchen includes a five-burner stove, coffee maker, combi microwave, grill, refrigerator, dishwasher and kettle. There are two separate bedrooms in the house, the first, very spacious bedroom, has a double bed, the other bedroom has two single beds. For the fifth and sixth person there is a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink and toilet. There is also central heating, free internet, crib and high chair. Behind the house you have a partially enclosed garden with furnished terrace, picnic table, parasol and barbecue, from which you can look far over the meadows. Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located on the edge of a nature reserve established by the Zeeland Landscape for migratory birds, among other things, on our farm. You can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet with us. In the yard there are several animals such as horses, sheep and chickens. For the children there are various playground equipment available such as a slide, swing and trampoline. Grijpskerke is a small but lively village and is centrally located in the countryside of Walcheren, so you are quickly at the beach, the woods or the historic center of Middelburg. There are many marked bicycle routes which lead you via quiet paths and roads through the beautiful landscape to various historic towns and villages such as Domburg, Oostkapelle, Veere, Vlissingen and Middelburg. We spent two nights there—on very short notice. For such a short stay, it was more than fine. The few things that “bothered” us a bit are just nitpicking. It was hard to air out the room, since the windows facing the back can’t be opened at all and the ones facing the front only open a crack. It was very, very warm the first night. The second issue is more of a personal “problem”—it’s hard to get the room completely dark, which made it difficult for the kids to fall asleep and caused them to wake up early. We tried using extra blankets to make it darker. We would have appreciated a clothes rack for the many wet towels from the beach. But we found solutions for that, too. Other than that, it was really lovely! Fresh eggs as a welcome gift; the highlights were the horses by the garden fence and the trampoline for the kids; the peace and quiet all around was great. We were completely undisturbed. We can recommend it without hesitation.

Das zweite ist eher ein individuelles "Problem", dass man die Zimmer nicht gut dunkel bekommt, was für die Kinder zum einschlafen schwer war und früh wieder wach waren. Haben versucht es mit weiteren Decken dunkler zu bekommen. Über einen Wäscheständer hätten wir uns gefreut für die vielen nassen Handtücher vom Strand. Aber auch da haben wir Lösungen gefunden. Ansonsten war es wirklich sehr schön ! Frische Eier zur Begrüßung, das Highlight waren die Pferde am Gartenzaun und das Trampolin für die Kinder, die Ruhe drumherum war super. Man war komplett ungestört. Können es bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Bigger than expected! It is really two separate cottages, separate from each other, with all amenities! Even an oven for fresh bread when the bakery is closed! The house was reasonably clean. Floors and such were clean but the higher you looked more cobwebs ... we first had to remove cobwebs before we could go to sleep ... and in the cutlery drawer were still all rice grains ... and glasses were still dirty ... for the €70 cleaning fee I definitely expected more!

Van alle gemakken voorzien! Zelfs een oven voor verse broodjes als de bakker dicht is!
Het huisjes was redelijk schoon. Vloeren enzo wel schoon maar hoe hoger je keek meer spinnenwebben.. we hebben eerst spinnenwebben weg moeten halen voor dat we konden gaan slapen..
en in de besteklade lagen nog allemaal rijstkorrels.. en glazen waren nog vies.. voor de €70,- schoonmaakkosten had ik zeker meer verwacht!Wonderfully quiet and not on a through road. Horses, chickens, a cat and a little dog (and its poop...) were present.
