Our house is located on the edge of a beautiful dune area where you can walk and cycle. On the beautiful beach of Castricum you are in 5 minutes by car, on the bike in 20 minutes and walking in about an hour. There are nice, cozy beach pavilions, where you can enjoy a snack and a drink at sunset. Both Amsterdam, Haarlem and Alkmaar are easily accessible, most easily by train which takes about 25 minutes. Nice stores, cozy terraces and beautiful museums! And when you come home it is great to relax in the large enclosed garden in one of the many seats o the large dining table. Castricum itself also has plenty of restaurants to eat out and an indoor shopping center with supermarkets and several nice stores.

On the other side of the nature house you can walk directly into the woods and dunes and after about an hour you can then arrive at the beach from where you can take another path back home. On the bike there are beautiful bike rides to make towards Egmond aan zee or a little further towards Bergen. Straight through the beautiful Dutch dune landscape.

Chris July 30, 2022 General rating:Besides not understanding why this is a nature house, we also don't like the house very much. It is a dark and chilly house. Because it was often warm during our stay it didn't bother us very much but it was good to know. It is packed with stuff from the owners, that certainly did not appeal to us either. The upper floor is partly barely insulated, old windows with single glazing and limited ventilation options. Finally, you are supposed to keep up the garden: well it is full of flowers so go ahead. Response landlord: Sorry to hear that our house did not meet your expectations. We think that with the many pictures of the house and garden we have given a good realistic picture. Fortunately, the many positive reviews and ratings give a better picture.
Naast dat we niet begrijpen waarom dit een natuurhuisje is, vinden we het huis ook niet zo fijn. Het is een donker en kil huis. Omdat het vaak warm was tijdens ons verblijf hinderde dat niet heel erg maar wel goed om te weten. Het staat bomvol met spulletjes van de eigenaren, dat sprak ons bepaald ook niet aan. De bovenverdieping is deels nauwelijks geïsoleerd, oude ramen met enkel glas en beperkte ventilatiemogelijkheden. Tenslotte word je geacht de tuin wat bij te houden: nou die staat vol met bloemen dus ga je gang.
Reactie verhuurder: Jammer om te horen dat ons huis niet aan de verwachtingen heeft voldaan. Wij denken dat we met de vele foto`s van huis en tuin een goed reëel beeld hebben gegeven.
