The Ambléve, Steinbach, and Wolfsbuch rivers are within walking distance, where you can swim, kayak, or canoe. Close your eyes and hear nothing but water, birds, the occasional cricket, and perhaps the crackling fire in the fireplace. Although the chalet is in a wonderfully peaceful location, you can reach the charming and lively town of Malmedy in less than 15 minutes by car. The village of Waimes is about a five-minute drive away and has its own small supermarket, a bakery, and a pharmacy.

One small downside: only one shower room for six people, and you have to conserve hot water, but otherwise it was absolutely fantastic, very clean... There weren't any teaspoons, and the TV wasn't accessible—you had to sign up to use it... but in a setting like this, you don’t really need TV unless it’s raining. The host was charming, the instructions for picking up the keys were clear, and there’s plenty of parking. A really great experience that we can’t wait to repeat.

A really nice house, large dining table, fully equipped kitchen, large picnic table on the porch, comfortable bedrooms with great mattresses. It’s really nice that dogs are welcome here, too. The only downsides for us were that the upstairs bedrooms don’t have any outlets in the rooms and that the yard isn’t fenced or (partially) enclosed, so you can’t let your dog run free without the risk of it running away or visiting the neighbors. Enige minpuntjes voor ons waren dat de slaapkamers boven geen stopcontact op de kamer hebben en dat de tuin niet omheind is of (gedeeltelijk) afgesloten, waardoor je je hond niet los kan laten lopen zonder het risico dat ze wegloopt of gaat buurten bij de buren.
