You’ll be staying in a new, detached, traditionally crafted oak building. Two guest accommodations have been built on either side. They are situated separately from one another and offer complete privacy and unobstructed views. The cottage is spacious at approximately 20 m². It is comfortable thanks to good insulation and underfloor heating. High-quality, sustainable materials were used in its construction. You can admire the impressive wooden structure, which has been left exposed. Our nature house has limited cooking facilities. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, a small refrigerator, a single-burner induction cooktop, pots and pans, a microwave, a kettle, cutlery, and dishes. The room features a dining area and a spacious box-spring bed, which has already been made up for your comfort. Shampoo, soap, towels, and coffee and tea are provided; you’re welcome to use them for free. A surprise breakfast can be booked as an optional extra through the GrootBoerle breakfast service. It’s a place to unwind and enjoy nature.
Nature and surroundings
The estate is a 6.7-hectare nature reserve featuring water, woods, and meadows. You can enjoy lovely walks and daydream on our grounds. In addition to our farm animals—such as chickens, peacocks, sheep, a horse, and a dog—various wild animals live here, including grass snakes, badgers, stone martens, roe deer, and a wide variety of birds. Sitting around the campfire, it’s wonderful to gaze at the stars or the setting sun. And if you feel like getting away for a bit? There’s plenty to do in the area! From our property, you can go for endless walks and bike rides. It’s a surprisingly diverse landscape. You’ll notice that the Veluwe and the IJssel River are nearby, as forests, small ponds, heathland, and meadows alternate. The Hanseatic town of Zutphen is 8 km from our house. The route to Zutphen is beautiful: rural roads wind through the charming bocage landscape into the expansive floodplains, offering a stunning view of the historic town.
