Nature house in Doornspijk

The nature house is located on the outskirts of the village of Doornspijk on private property. This cozy, contemporary nature house was built in 2012 and is equipped with many modern conveniences. The ground floor features a spacious entryway with a toilet. A tastefully decorated living room with a cast-iron wood stove, an open kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, refrigerator, and a gas stove with an electric oven, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sink, and washing machine.  On the ground floor, there is a bedroom with two beds. Upstairs, there is a cozy loft bedroom for two people. The beds are made, and kitchen and bath linens are provided. The adjoining terrace is a pleasant spot to enjoy the peaceful countryside and the view stretching all the way to the Veluwe Randmeren. There is a covered fire pit area with mood lighting and a wood stove. The nature house is an excellent starting point for geo-coaching.

The nature house is located a 200-meter walk from a protected bird and nature reserve. It’s an ideal base from which to enjoy what the Veluwe and nearby Flevoland have to offer. There are many marked cycling routes in the Veluwe. The Zuiderzee Route even runs along the Lageweg, where the nature house is located. Bicycles are available. Elburg, with its five museums and monuments, among other attractions, is well worth a visit. It’s one of the most popular small destinations in the Netherlands. Walibi Amusement Park is 10 km away. In ’t Harde, the De Haere nature reserve features a sand drift—an open area in the woods and heathland where sand is blown about by wind and water. It’s a beautiful area for hiking. The A. Vogeltuinen (with the “barefoot path”), where you can enjoy flowers, herbs, and tranquility. Nunspeet, just 5 km away, offers excellent shopping. The Transferium Tower provides a spectacular view. In Vierhouten, “Het Verscholen Dorp” (a Jewish hiding place) and in Elspeet, the Second Sheepfold.
