Nature house in Barchem

The nature house is part of the buildings on the grounds of the former farm in Barchem. The former carpenter’s workshop features a living room, two double bedrooms, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. Coffee and tea are provided and may be used as desired. The beds will be made upon your arrival, and your towels and bathrobes will be hanging ready for use. The French doors offer an unobstructed view of the surrounding farmland and the adjacent dirt road. The garden features fruit trees. The cottage is suitable for (small) children. A crib, a baby bathtub, and a high chair are provided. Pets are generally allowed upon consultation. The price is based on a stay for 2 people in a 1-bedroom cottage. If you use an additional bedroom, there is an extra charge of €10 per stay. Please indicate this when booking your stay.

The nature house is situated in a particularly peaceful, rural setting; it’s not uncommon to encounter a roe deer, a hare, a rabbit, or other wildlife. There is plenty of information available to help you plan lovely short or long walks. The nearby nature reserves “Het Hagenbeek,” “Kostverloren,” “Het Rijkenbarg,” and, of course, the “Lochemse” and “Kale Berg” offer ample opportunities for this.The “Hackfort” estate in Vorden features a Stinzen garden and a vegetable garden with various marked walking trails. The “Eight Castles Bicycle Route” passes by the cottage, and the “Achterhoek” MTB routes—the Lochem, Ruurlo, and Borculo loops—are also very close by. It’s possible to have (electric) rental bikes delivered to the cottage. High-quality MTB bikes are also available for rent nearby. For art and culture lovers, Museum MORE in Ruurlo—featuring the Carel Willink collection and Mathilde Willink’s dresses—is a must-see. The Hanseatic cities of Deventer, Zutphen, and Doesburg are definitely worth a visit.
