Our campsite and B & B with 3 rooms on the second floor is quietly situated on the edge of a forest and meadow, in a very wooded area.The nature house is very suitable for guests who want to enjoy peace, relaxation and beautiful nature. Our camping and B & B is small-scale and is located right next to and in a farm which is out of business. lies in the hamlet Kotten and 7km from the center of Winterswijk, near the 'Wooldseveen' and a stone's throw from the border with Germany.And in a beautiful, wooded coulisse landscape in the Achterhoek in Gelderland, where you can still hear the birds whistling and the game in forest and meadow walk.You can enjoy walking and cycling in this area, using several beautiful bicycle and hiking trails. The Achterhoek is a beautiful area and some parts have been declared a National Landscape. The area around Winterswijk belongs to National landscape with its Korenburger-, Wooldse- and Meddoseveen, Bekendelle.Special are also the for this region so characteristic Scholte farms. Scholten farms are stately farmhouses in the midst of large groups of trees. Scholtenboeren had a privileged position in the local community until well into the nineteenth century. They were wealthy farmers with a lot of land in their possession, parts of which they leased to small farmers. Moreover, they acted on behalf of the (noble) landowner as enforcers of order and law. They also took care of the landscape. The characteristic coulisse landscape around Winterswijk, an alternation of woodlands, hedgerows, streams and groups of trees is partly due to them.And, one of Holland's most famous painters, Piet Mondrian, lived in Winterswijk.
