Near Évora, one of the nicest and oldest towns in Portugal, in the center of the lovely province of Alentejo, we have a quinta (lit. estate, farm), more than 100 years old, located 3.5 km. from the walls of the old town, in a quiet area north of Évora (between Bacelo and Canaviais). You will find every comfort you want for a pleasant stay during your vacation (or maybe even work period): a large sitting room/kitchen (with wood stove), one or two bedrooms and a bathroom. There are two apartments, both with private entrance, but a connecting door in the house makes it also very suitable for a larger group of, say, 6 people. Sheets and towels are provided. Bring a bath towel if necessary. In the total nature house there are two sitting rooms/dining kitchens, two bathrooms, three bedrooms. Around the house is plenty of space to sit, amid orange trees, olive trees, vines and meadows.
Nature and surroundings
From the nature house you can walk and bike to the beautiful unspoiled villages and towns nearby. To the city it is 15 min cycling, bicycles can be rented in town. By car to the wide sandy beaches of Alentejo (e.g. Carvalhal 120 km.), not in traffic jams but through a beautiful, unspoiled area, or by bus to Lisbon (1.5 hrs.). There is a bus stop near our house where a city bus stops about once an hour. Around Évora are also numerous interesting places, often still walled and on an elevation, due to the wars and struggles with Spain in the 15th and 16th centuries.
