Sensitively restored 2 bedroom ex 17th century mill. The art nouveau entrance to the 17th century mill is via the original mill stones and cobbles and leads you into what originally housed the mechanics of a working water mill. This nature house has a cosy open plan lounge dining room furniture and kitchen that are a tastefully upcycled medley from the early 20th century to the 1960's and the gite is full of character and artifacts providing you with a creative and stimulating but also relaxing home with a wood-burner, wood/gas fired central heating and all mod cons to make your winter stay comfortable and enriching. Desk and writing spaces are in every room of this nature house, combined with reading and table lights. We have solar hot water and are in the process of extending this with photovoltaics next year. We compost and recycle. Please note. The original millers stairs are steep and only suitable for the fit and able and are not suitable for people with walking difficulties and small children.
Nature and surroundings
Intimate valley, bird sanctuary, suitable for nature and animal lovers, woodland walks and cycle routes, kayaking nearby as well as pilgrims trail. We have sheep in the paddocks and practice organic gardening and permaculture. This is a place for recharging, as well as creating and contemplating. We are energy aware and are welcoming guests who share the ethos of sustainability and taking care of land, animals and resources.
