The first floor of this nature cottage has a spacious dining/living kitchen (approximately 60 m2) which is equipped with all necessary equipment and crockery including a dining table. The living room (approximately 40 m2) is also equipped with an 8-person table and a spacious seating area where you can, for example, chat, have a drink and/or watch TV. On the upper floor there are 4 bedrooms, two equipped with a double bed and two equipped with bunk beds. In one of the bedrooms there are two single beds in addition to the double bed. There is also a spacious bathroom with bath, shower, sink and toilet. The house also has terraces and a jetty located on a wide canal. This is a great place to go fishing or take a canoe trip. There is always a place in the yard where you can spend time outdoors. The owners themselves live in a detached outbuilding in a yard of approximately 3000 m2.

The Kleine Schalsumerpolder is located on a dead-end road. You therefore have a lot of privacy here. Near the city of Franeker (about 5 km), this house is surrounded by meadows and agriculture. In fifteen minutes by bike you can reach the traditional university town of Franeker, which includes a museum, various historical attractions and the world-famous Planetarium. Franeker also has several cozy catering establishments. Harlingen (about 15 km) is a cozy fishing town with several ports. Ferries depart from Harlingen to the Wadden Islands of Vlieland and Terschelling (Unesco World Heritage Site). The capital of Friesland is Leeuwarden (about 18) and was in 2018 Cultural Capital of Europe. From the house you can make several bicycle tours. The seawall of the Wadden Sea is about 8 km away. The plot is also located on the famous pilgrim walking route The Jacob's Path which starts at Zwarte Haan (about 16 km) on the sea dike.
