Nature house in Scherpenzeel

The nature house in the Meentehoeve has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and garden. The spacious kitchen with large dining table is equipped with stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. Pots, pans and cookbooks with tasty vacation dishes are waiting for you. Pepper, salt, olive oil, coffee, tea, sugar, coffee creamer, dishes, cutlery, matches and spices are provided. Groceries can be bought in the village vegetable garden, at the farmer's or supermarket (5 km). There are comfortable armchairs to lounge in, read, watch TV or Netflix. There is also a good speaker on which you can play your own music. The nature house has a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Toilet paper, bedding, towels, kitchen linen and cleaning supplies are included. So basically you only need to bring your clothes and toiletry bag.

Nature begins in your own garden (250 m2). Storks and sheep are your neighbors, barn owls your upstairs neighbors: outside to spot from your garden chair, inside via Barn Owl TV (camera). Kingfisher, woodpecker, goldfinch and others visit the garden with some regularity and occasionally a hedgehog scurries around. From the garden of the Meentehoeve you can walk, cycle or canoe directly into the nature reserve 'the Rottige Meente', the habitat of the firefly, otter and marsh harrier. The canoes in the garden are free to use. Five kilometers away are National Park Weerribben/Wieden and the Kuinderbos, at the bottom of the former Zuiderzee.Outdoor swimming is possible everywhere in Friesland. Within cycling distance you will find fine, quiet swimming spots on the river Tjonger and Linde or at the Tjeukemeer. Had enough of birds, frogs and plants? The Eleven Cities are in Friesland and museums, cafes and restaurants are nowhere in the Netherlands really far away.
