The nature house is located at the end of a quiet road, over a kilometer from a small hamlet. It is tastefully decorated and brocante, with more charm than luxury. 300m away is a horse pension, there the paved road ends and forest paths go into nature. 4km away is a village with 2 bakers, a supermarket, hairdresser, cafe, pharmacy and 3 restaurants. You can bike this, although the way back is a steep climb.There are 4 bedrooms and the kitchen is fully equipped. The attic is insulated and can be kept well warm in winter thanks to the wood stove downstairs. In summer, however, the attic can get hot. There is a spacious bathroom with tub and compact shower. Outside there is a spacious 5 by 10m pool, a wood-fired sauna and several outside dining areas. The garden makes the house particularly suitable for families: there are 2 tipi tents where children can camp, roast marshmallows by the fire and there is a trampoline. An ideal place for the whole family.
Nature and surroundings
There is much to discover in the Dordogne: rivers, caves, amusement parks, castles, climbing parks, aquariums, villages and even three cities. Many markets: regular market on fixed days per village, vide-greniers (flea markets) and brocantes (antiques, or very expensive fleas). The house is on the edge of a forest, overlooking the countryside. From the house you can make good walks: it is located on the special route, which is plotted by the municipality. The area is also excellent for cyclists and mountain bikers. Water sports can be done about 10 kilometers from the house. For swimming, Tremolat is suitable, there the Dordogne is deep. For canoeing, Limeuil is better. For (wave) surfing, the beaches around Bordeaux are better, but that is about 2.5 hours by car.

Heel gezellig huis en het was zalig te vertoeven in de tuin en het zwembad.
Zeer rustig en mooie omgeving.

Het was heerlijk genieten in dit huisje en de omgeving. Mooie natuur, prachtig uitzicht en zeer rustig. Ideaal plekje om helemaal tot rust te komen.

Hoewel de omgeving zeer idyllisch en de woning zeer charmant waren, waren er toch heel wat zaken niet in orde. Om te beginnen zaten we met een enorme wespen- en hoornaertplaag en was het zwembad niet proper. Na een telefoontje met de huisbaas, kwamen de dag nadien de tuinman en zwembadman hun werk doen. Hierdoor hadden we al veel minder last van de wespen.
Helaas was dit niet het enigste wat niet in orde was. De BBQ bleek een schamele vuurschaal te zijn, de bovenverdieping (waar de kinderen slapen) is veel te warm om tijdens de zomer een goeie nachtrust te kunnen hebben, boven zijn er geen verduisterende gordijnen en zijn er grote vlekken op het vast tapijt. Het zwembad heeft geen trapje, dus het in en uitstappen (zeker voor kleinere kinderen) is niet zo gemakkelijk.
Bij aankomst zag je dat er net gepoetst werd, maar ook dit was niet heel grondig gebeurd.
Toen we dit aankaartten bij de eigenaar werden we afgedaan als 'de enigste mensen die klagen' en zodus was onze mening niet van belang.
Heel jammer, aangezien dit onze eerste reis in 5 jaar was...
De woning heeft met andere woorden eens een stevige opknapbeurt en check-up van het materiaal nodig.

Wij horen altijd graag wat de ervaringen zijn van onze gasten, zeker als we er iets mee kunnen verbeteren. Bij sommige gasten is het een raadsel waarom ze in een natuurhuisje willen verblijven, bijvoorbeeld als ze niet van insecten houden. Wij vinden airco niet energiezuinig, dus wie het te warm vindt (beneden is het meestal nog best koel): beter een hotel boeken, of wat Noordelijker op vakantie gaan!Zeer rustige locatie met mooi zicht op de omgeving. Goed bereikbaar en toch omringd door bos, weiden en stilte.
