Nature house in Beho

Upstairs there’s another filthy toilet, hidden behind a little curtain.
The cottage is musty, dark, and cold. Even though the weather was nice, we had to turn on the heat—here, a (nearly impossible-to-light) gas heater; there, an electric heater; cords strewn all over the floor; and a utility box right in the living area. Upstairs is quite an experience too: once you’ve climbed the steep staircase, you find yourself in the master bedroom, with a hatch right in front of the stairs.
There’s a bedroom on the left and one on the right—how are you supposed to sleep there with multiple people??
We left a day early out of sheer misery; it was unbearable. How dare anyone rent out such a dump???
The garden was very “natural,” though—that’s where the rats partied in the evenings.
The surroundings were beautiful, but this is the first time we’ve rented a nature house—and it’ll definitely be the last.
What are your criteria? Do you ever inspect the cottages?
Because this is really unacceptable. We rent a cottage a few times a year because we have a dog and are used to quite a bit, but this??……..brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Boven is nog zo’n smerig toilet, achter een gordijntje.
Het huisje is muf, donker en koud. Ondanks dat het mooi weer was moesten we stoken, hier een(bijna niet aan de praat te krijgen) gaskacheltje, daar een elektrisch kacheltje, overal snoeren over de grond en een meterkast in de woonruimte. Boven is ook een ervaring: als je de steile trap beklommen hebt sta je in de masterbedroom, mét luik voor de trap.
Links en rechts een slaapkamer, hoe ga je daar met meerdere mensen slapen??
We zijn van ellende een dag eerder weggegaan, niet te doen, hoe durft iemand zo’n kot te verhuren???
De tuin was wel heel “natuurlijk”, daar vierden de ratten ‘s avonds feest.
Omgeving was prachtig, maar dit is voor ons de eerste keer dat we een Natuurhuisje gehuurd hebben en meteen de laatste.
Wat zijn jullie criteria? Checken jullie wel eens huisjes?
Dit kan namelijk echt niet. We huren een paar keer per jaar een huisje omdat we hond hebben en zijn echt wel wat gewend, maar dit??……..brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Well, where should I start…. Arrival: limited parking (on a slight slope) right next to a really busy road where people drive fast.
Entrance to the cottage: You walk into the kitchenette, and the first thing you see is a “white” wall that’s black at the bottom from moisture. There’s a door leading to what the owner calls the bathroom, which is dirty and in disrepair.
The “bathroom” consists of a small sink without a shelf (where are you supposed to put your stuff?), a bathtub where you have to shower, with a wooden wall behind it that’s black from the weather and green with mold, and the toilet behind the tub. Upon arrival, the toilet was full of paper; the toilet barely flushes, and after flushing it 87 times, the biggest surprise came: a toilet bowl that was far too filthy, caked with brown grime. Welcome to our nature house!!!
The cottage smells musty, is dark, has been “renovated” in an amateurish way, is cold—with a small gas heater here (almost impossible to get working) and a small electric heater there—cords everywhere, and a meter box in the living area……how is that even possible??

Tja, waar zal ik beginnen….aankomst: weinig parkeerruimte (op een hellinkje) pal langs een serieus drukke weg waar hard gereden wordt.
Entree huisje: je komt binnen in het keukentje en het eerste wat je ziet is een ‘witte” muur die aan de onderkant zwart van het vocht is. Een deur naar wat de eigenaar badkamer noemt die vies en kapot is.
De “badkamer” bestaat uit een wastafeltje zonder plankje(waar laat je je spulletjes?),een bad waarin je moet douchen met een houten wand erachter die zwart van het weer en groen van de schimmel is, en achter het bad het toilet. Bij aankomst zat het toilet vol papier, toilet spoelt bijna niet door en na 87 keer doortrekken kwam de grootste verrassing: een té smerige, bruin aangekoekte toiletpot. Welkom in ons Natuurhuisje!!!
Het huisje ruikt muf, is donker, amateuristisch “opgeknapt”, koud met hier een gaskacheltje (bijna niet aan de praat te krijgen) en daar een elektrisch kacheltje, overal snoeren, een meterkast in de woonruimte……hoe dan??

The cottage is really beautiful. The thick stone walls keep it cool in the summer. The amenities are nice. Unfortunately, the toilet downstairs doesn’t flush properly, and there were no trash bags for organic waste. Due to a miscommunication, only one bed was made up, even though we paid 40 euros for it—I thought that was a shame. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Het huisje is echt heel mooi. De dikke stenen muren zorgen ervoor dat het in de zomer koel blijft. De voorzieningen zijn fijn. Toilet beneden spoelt niet goed door helaas, en er waren geen groenzakjes. Door miscommunicatie was er maar 1 bed opgemaakt, waar we 40 euro voor hebben betaald, dat vond ik jammer. Over het algemeen een erg fijn verblijf gehad.

The main road the cottage is on is pretty busy, which can be annoying at times when you're sitting in the garden. You can't hear any of that noise inside the cottage, though. You're right in the middle of beautiful surroundings.

De doorgaande weg waar het huisje aan ligt is vrij druk, wat af en toe vervelend is als je in de tuin zit. In het huisje hoor je er niks van. Je bent snel in een mooie omgeving.
