The house features a spacious bed, a kitchenette with a fridge-freezer and microwave, and a small stovetop. The living room has a sleeper sofa (for a 3rd or 4th person), a small table, an electric heater, and a cozy wood stove. Nearby is a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. The bed is made, and bath towels are provided. Hiking: the “Boa Natte Broekken” hike; various bike routes pass by here, or rent a Solex and explore the windmill route (including a brewery) or other routes! You can get some fresh air by the sea within 30 km. Visit the “De Dolle Brouwers” brewery.

Frog concerts, fishing, many songbirds, and even “the fox,” long-eared owls, red kites, and kingfishers are regular visitors here. In Zarren, with a view of Flanders’ tallest windmill, you can choose from no fewer than four cycling routes: the “Molenroute,” “Rodenbachroute,” “Krekedalroute,” and more. Planning a day trip to the coast? Nieuwpoort is even accessible by bike along an old railroad right-of-way. In the middle of the fields, you’ll find this little piece of unspoiled paradise. It’s hard to believe that just over 100 years ago, fierce battles raged in this very area for years on end. Ypres, Langemark, Zonnebeke, Diksmuide... the “traces” of the war are still visible everywhere. (including the Vredesmolen viewpoint)
