In the middle of our natural vineyard, in an old plum stand transformed into a food forest, our furnished tipi is ready for your stay. In this green oasis you are the only ones, so enjoy undisturbed. Cooking can be done on the available stoves or over a campfire in a Dutch Oven. Depending on the season, you can use some fresh herbs or fruit from the food forest and the vineyard is always nearby for a walk. The tent is furnished for 2 people, equipped with bedding, cooking utensils, pans and crockery. In the field is a picnic table and campfire area with wood for a modest campfire. Sanitary facilities are in the barn in the yard about 150m and are shared with any other guests. The tent is not accessible by car, you park it in our yard, a wheelbarrow is available for transporting luggage. Options for breakfast and high-wine will follow by email shortly before your stay. Nature and surroundings
From the yard you walk directly onto the Waaldijk with behind it the nature reserve of the Hurnse Kil, bird sanctuary and oldest nature reserve in the Netherlands, a vast floodplain area where you can take excellent walks and on a hot day also swim. By bike you can discover the polder area and the many small and large villages of the Bommelerwaard, not to mention the castles. Or you just stay on the dike and enjoy the many views, taking the ferry from Heerewaarden to Tiel and back on the other side.... With the historic town of Zaltbommel on one side and Hurwenen and Rossum on the other you will find all the amenities of stores, eateries and terraces within 4 km. But also Den Bosch and Utrecht are easily accessible by car (or train) due to its central location near the A2 motorway and Zaltbommel station (2.4 km).
