The House has direct access to the river allowing you to enjoy serene river side views when on top of a paddle board (SUP), drifting in a canoe or fresh water fishing for barbel, carp or bass. The House is the perfect location for families or groups wanting to get away from it all, with gorgeous rooms, large decks and terraces for outdoor dining and exercise, an infinity pool and uninterrupted views of the countryside and Funcho Dam. The clean, country air and beautiful views of the river and countryside can be best enjoyed during picturesque, easy going walks where you will discover the lovely cistus rockrose, thought to be magical and therapeutic and Portugal’s national tree, cork oak, showing their bright orange-brown coloured trunks when stripped for cork.The popular, self-guided walking route, via Algarviana, especially the routes that are in the area namely Messines to Alte (section 8) and Messines to Silves (section 9) giving you the chance to spot a large variety of birds such as the exotic looking hoopoe, wading egret, fast flying swifts and swallows and also one of the largest flying birds, the stork. Other walking and cycling routes include the PR1 Percurso Pedestre Cultural S.B Messines, the Paderne Castle walk / cycle route, the Church Walk and the Algarve Road Cycling Silves No 18 Route.
