Nature and surroundings
ARDENNE BELGE HAMOIR, near DURBUY, AYWAILLE, SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, BANNEUX etc ...in a rural hamlet, next to the beautiful church of St Pierre de Xhignesse, come and discover this magnificent old barn in local stone, fully and luxuriously restored. LE JARDIN DE LIÈGE: as you leave the Cité Ardente, you enter a verdant rural region, imbued with serenity. Here, the Ourthe and Amblève rivers have carved out valleys and shaped grandiose panoramas, revealing marvellous castles and villages. This hamlet of +/- 40 inhabitants is set in the heart of nature: pastures and forests surround you. There's plenty of scope for beautiful walks. At the gîte, you'll find sheets to take with you for tours of varying lengths. Everything you need is available and in good condition.
Nature, peace & environment:It is very quiet there, as the house is surrounded by meadows and fields. That is very nice.

The landlady is very friendly and helpful. The house was very suitable for our multi-generational/large family vacation. On the first floor is the wheelchair-accessible room with bathroom, and there is enough space to get around with a wheelchair. There is even a small ramp for the threshold to the terrace. Some of the kitchen appliances and other equipment seem to have been in use for quite a long time, but everything you need is there. We would book the house again!
Nature, peace & environment:The house is located in a tiny village (Hameau Xhingnesse), which belongs to the village of Hamoir. It is very quiet, even the main road through the village has hardly any traffic. From the house it is a short walk down to the river Ourthe - but you have to walk along the road for a while, there is no footpath at first. The area offers many and very diverse leisure activities, there was not enough time to get to know everything that would have appealed to us and interested us. Many things are easiest to reach by car, especially if you are also traveling in a wheelchair. If you are a good walker, you can easily walk to Hamoir, where there is also a train station. There is no bakery in Hamoir (anymore), but there is a supermarket, an organic store, several restaurants and a few other stores. We met very helpful and friendly people everywhere. We felt very comfortable both in the house and in the area!
This text is automatically translated. -
