New independent eco-house in rural setting, away from the crowds between Florence and Siena. This is an annex building on a family run olive farm surrounded by unspoilt Tuscan countryside. Plenty of shaded outdoor space, barbecue, stunning views, fantastic sunsets and big night skies. We are an official agriturismo and there are two other independent apartments on the olive farm that share the pool and private parking. A shared swimming pool (10 x 6.5 m), paved with local stone, is hidden at the end of a wooded path behind the house. The farmhouse is surrounded by garden and herbs which you are welcome to pick.
Nature and surroundings
In the immediate vicinity of the farmhouse one can venture along ancient rural roads and woodland paths. The extensive forests to the west of the property, beyond the Cecina River-where it is possible to bathe in crystal-clear waters-are directly accessible from Timignano and are part of the Berignone Protected Area, one of the largest in Tuscany. The many marked trails provide endless opportunities for hiking and mountain biking as well as the chance to observe local flora and fauna. Medieval villages perched on the surrounding hills offer fantastic views, quaint stone-paved streets and alleyways, imposing churches and castles, a taste of the pace of life, and good restaurants, one of which is 5 minutes from Timignano. The metalliferous hills, which have been exploited for geothermal energy for more than a century, offer lunar landscapes and warm waters in which to soak even in winter. Of course there is also classic Tuscany-Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano about 40 minutes away.
