Nature house in Kloosterzande

In the Zeeuws-Vlaanderen polder just outside the village of Kloosterzande and near the fortified town of Hulst lies this micro camping site. The camping site ( 450m2) is located on an old farmyard, with a pony, sheep, chickens and geese and is therefore not as slick as a campsite, but in these Corona times, you do have the luxury of being the only staycationist on this site. A maximum of about six people can stay overnight. Sanitary facilities are inside the barn. In this barn you can also take shelter in really bad weather. The microcamping is ideal for peace seekers, cyclists and hikers. It is a place where creativity can be stimulated. The cities of Antwerp and Ghent are 45 minutes away by car.

Nearby there are several nature reserves. De Putting ( at 500 meters ) is one of the few real oldland areas still known to Zeeland. It already existed before 1200 and in 2014 an additional expansion of 150 hectares was realized. It is a bird area par excellence.There is also the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe,the largest brackish water salt marsh in Europe and near Terneuzen the Margarethapolder as a new nature reserve at about 15 kilometers. The Stropersbos near Clinge and Stekene is perfect for hiking (300ha) The famous and controversial Hedwigepolder is within cycling distance; the Belgian part is already realized as a nature reserve and open to the public. Furthermore, Plan Perkpolder is in progress and portions have already been realized. One polder has already been returned to the Westerschelde; it is a 15-minute walk from the nature house and in 2020 the realization of a new inner dike nature reserve will start.
