You are staying in our 200 year old fully restored monumental farmhouse on the tranquil mound of Jannum. Upon entering you are immediately impressed by this mighty structure. This warm, cozy and very comfortable suite 'De Tjirk' (which is Frisian for Tureluur) has its own toilet, luxury rain shower and washbasin. The comfortable spacious lit jumeaux beds (90x210, apart on request) provide a fantastic sleeping experience. From there you also have a beautiful view of the old stable wall. From your room you can step out onto the terrace and into the garden, which of course is at your disposal. Every morning we serve a delicious breakfast with fresh local products. In the farmhouse we have arranged several relaxation rooms which you can use. This also applies to the veranda with its panoramic view over the Frisian countryside, in the distance the Wadden dike as a horizon and in between beautiful walking and cycling possibilities and excellent fishing and canoeing water.
Nature and surroundings
Jannum is located in the vast Northeast Frisian countryside between Dokkum and Holwerd right on the Dokkumer Ee. It is a unique quiet place with many special attractions. You can cycle endlessly here. Many beautiful bicycle routes have already been mapped out for you. On beautiful country roads, on the beautiful bike paths along the river Ee from Dokkum to Bartlehiem and beyond. Of course you can rent a bike with us. Or how about hiking? There are numerous walking routes. Along terps, over the vast salt marshes (the largest in the Netherlands) and the Wadden dike to villages such as Paesens and Moddergat. Or through the northern Frisian Wâlden, a vast forest area with monumental villages such as Veenklooster, Oenkerk and Tytsjerk with their beautiful walking parks. Here you will also find the cozy and northernmost elf city Dokkum with its cozy terraces and fine restaurants. In short, lots to see and do. So really enjoy.
