In 2013, the landlords' dream came true when they took ownership of the 1918 home, which sits right next to their own 1904 home. After two years of renovation, the apartment was renovated in classic style. The nature house is completely energy-neutral, due to very good insulation and a sustainable installation that uses a source that goes 120 meters deep into the ground for heating. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed. The rooms offer a breathtaking view over the meadows with the Eltenberg and Rhine visible in the distance. Each room has its own shower, sink and toilet. After an active day you can also sit in the comfortable armchairs. On the ground floor is the kitchen and sitting room with access to the veranda. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, combi microwave, fridge/freezer, stove and a fresh bean coffee machine.

Around the apartment are in addition to walking in nature many (sports) opportunities in the immediate vicinity. National Landscape Gelderse Poort is located on several old Rhinestrangen, walking (Pieterpad and klompenpad) and cycling routes. Also, one of the most beautiful mountain bike routes in the Netherlands, the Montferlandroute, is a stone's throw away. Within walking and cycling distance is the popular water sports and recreation area De Bijland. On the one hand the river landscape, a cross-border protected nature reserve of 10,000 hectares in size, and on the other hand a wooded hilly landscape with beautiful views. In short, an ideal environment for hikers, cyclists, nature lovers, sports enthusiasts or just for a weekend or a short vacation in Montferland. Also nearby is the excellent golf course Borghees and you can store in Kleve, Zevenaar or Doetinchem.
