Welcome to this nature house! The accomodation is a studio, a former pig stable fully renovated, which can host 2 adults and 2 kids (double bed + bunk beds of 1.20m long). There is a private bathroom (shower and toilets), a small kitchen and a private terrace with a South exposition to fully enjoy the sun! A gas-heater is available for the fresher nights out of summer (suplement cost). The Mas, at one time a forge where the iron ore carried from the Canigou was melted, is surrounded by wooded slopes with chestnut, beech and oak trees. A river runs alongside the house and it is possible to swin in the natural pools. We have a lot of animals (goats, horses, donkeys, cats, dogs, chicken...) as well as a biological garden where we grow our own fruits and vegetables. Our place is really peaceful, hiking is possible around the place (GR10 a few minutes away), the landscapes are breathtaking and you can enjoy the starry sky without light pollution!
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is an isolated place in the French Pyrénées, where you will enjoy the peacefulness to relax and rest, meditate and fall asleep with the owls singing. During day time, you will be able to swim the the calm river and its natural pools, explore the area, horse-riding, walk to nearby spots such as the impressive Roc San Salvador rock just reading and napping in a hamac! It's located directly on the GR10, one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails. In the evenings we gather around the campfire, share stories under the stars, and make music. Nearby in the valley, you can visit Céret or Amélie les Bains. Céret is famous thanks to the many painters who stayed there and its museum is beautiful, as well as the market on Saturday mornings. Amélie le Bains has thermal baths and is renowned since antiquity! Or visit The Mediterranean coast. You will be able to visit the cute villages of Collioure and Banyuls, have a swim in the sea and why not scuba diving!
