This nature house is very and only suitable for people who love 'back to basics' and make a conscious choice to do so. We rent out 4 'tinyhouses' on a still working dairy farm. There are 4 showers, 4 toilets and 6 sinks, but not in the house itself. If you don't mind walking 20 steps and getting some fresh air, you've come to the right place! Because we have chosen to rent the cottages year round, there is no running water. However, there is, each Tiny house has a 20 liter jerry can with tap, which you can fill at the sanitary building! You really won't miss the "running hot water"! The cottage is equipped with a kitchen with an induction hob, kitchenette with coffee maker no 4, kettle and sink, so you can just wash dishes in the cottage! Each cottage has a private jacuzzi. Surcharge use jacuzzi 25 euros per night. Bed, hand and linen is included in the price.
Nature and surroundings
Hitzum is a village between Franeker and Harlingen in just an hour away from Amsterdam. Franeker and Harlingen are among the 11 cities of Friesland. Nice concept, beautiful view and we were kindly received in a warm cottage. But unfortunately in the cottage not everything was clean. Dirty stains on the couch, a shelf with mold next to the bed, mold in the fridge and also the sanitary building was very dirty while we were the first and only guests at that time. We had hoped that the hostess and host had done something about this in response to previous reviews, but alas. We had specially booked the jacuzzi for our night away. This too was already up to temperature. When we opened the lid, we immediately saw that the bottom was dirty. Lots of sand and leaves. When we stepped into the water all white flakes came up. The water quality did not seem right to us because it also smelled very stale. So our relaxing moment in the Jacuzzi had ended before it had even started properly and well.

We hadden voor ons nachtje weg speciaal de jacuzzi bijgeboekt. Ook deze was al op temperatuur. Toen we de deksel openden, zagen we direct dat de bodem vies was. Veel zand en bladeren. Toen we in het water stapten kwamen er allemaal witte vlokken omhoog. De waterkwaliteit leek ons niet op orde, want het rook ook erg muf.
