Nature house in Voorthuizen

At the bungalow park there are dogwalks/walking paths made where the dogs are allowed to run loose which is very nice. Very hospitable because the syrup waffles are ready. Bakje bird food with an info booklet there what birds are. Handyman Guus is very nice. The kitchen is extensive with salt, pepper, placemats. You can burn tea lights. The beds are great, the shower has a hard jet which is fine. You come to rest completely, lots of closet space, ample storage space in the kitchen.

Op het bungalowpark zijn er dogwalks/ wandelpaden gemaakt waar de honden los mogen lopen wat erg leuk is. Heel gastvrij want de stroopwafels staan klaar. Bakje vogelvoer met een info boekje erbij wat voor vogels er zijn. Klusjesman Guus is heel erg aardig. De keuken is uitgebreid met zout,peper, placemats. Je kan waxinelichtjes branden. De bedden liggen heerlijk, de douche heeft een harde straal wat fijn is. Je komt helemaal tot rust, heel veel kastruimte, ruime opbergruimte in de keuken.

Spacious and clean lodge, lots of space, Spacious garden where you sit privately. Lots of greenery around you, birds whistling massively. We saw a nest of the spotted woodpecker with hatchlings in it. Unfortunately we had rain almost every day. Super friendly owners. There was a bike in the barn and a hammock.

Ruime en schone lodge, veel ruimte, Ruime tuin waar je privé zit. Veel groen om je heen, vogels fluiten massaal. We zagen een nest van de bonte specht met jonkies erin. Helaas hadden wij bijna elke dag regen. Super vriendelijke eigenaren. Er stond een fiets in de schuur en een hangmat.

Cottage was nice, some minor downsides like leaking shower door. Beautiful location, nice beds.

Huisje was mooi, wat kleine minpuntjes zoals lekkende douchedeur. Prachtige ligging, fijne bedden.

How nice that the grounds have nice trails for walking the dog.

Wat fijn dat er op het terrein mooie paden zijn gemaakt om met de hond te wandelen.

You have to provide almost everything yourself (no spices, no olive oil, no shower gel, no kitchen towels...), except for the absolute basics that are ready in disposable packages as a welcome gift. The ecological aspect also felt a bit contradictory. Waste is not sorted, and bedding is wrapped in plastic. That takes away a bit of the "nature feel." We were also attracted by the competitive price, but the supplements add up quickly: 30€ energy costs, 30€ for bedding. It feels like a commercial Center Parcs operation, and that takes away from your nature experience. A plus, however, is that you can walk straight from the park, and the dog is totally welcome - the forest nearby is beautiful and we really enjoyed that. All in all, not a wrong place to be, but the description and photos create higher expectations than what you find in reality. We were looking for something more authentic, natural and free.

Je moet bijna alles zelf voorzien (geen kruiden, geen olijfolie, geen douchegel, geen keukenhanddoeken…), behalve de absolute basics die in wegwerpverpakkingen klaar liggen als welkomstgeschenk.
Ook het ecologische aspect voelde wat tegenstrijdig. Afval wordt niet gesorteerd, en het beddengoed zit in plastic verpakt. Dat haalt een beetje het ‘natuurgevoel’ weg.
We werden ook aangetrokken door de scherpe prijs, maar de supplementen lopen snel op: 30€ energiekosten, 30€ voor bedlinnen. Het voelt aan als een commerciële Center Parcs-uitbating, en dat haalt je natuurbeleving onderuit.
Een pluspunt is wel dat je vanuit het park meteen kunt wandelen, en dat de hond helemaal welkom is — het bos vlakbij is prachtig en daar hebben we echt van genoten.
Al met al geen verkeerde plek om te zijn, maar de beschrijving en foto’s scheppen hogere verwachtingen dan wat je in werkelijkheid aantreft. Wij zochten iets authentieker, natuurlijker en vrijer.

Based on the ad on Nature House, we had different expectations. We were looking for a place close to nature, where we could escape from the crowds for a while and enjoy peace and solitude.Upon arrival, it turned out that the cottage is part of a street with about eighteen other uniform cottages, close together in a tightly landscaped forest park. The park is managed by a strict manager with clear rules: cars are not allowed near the cottage, but must be in a central parking lot. Communication is via automated impersonal messages. In the cottage itself you can hardly hear the neighbors, but you are not really alone here. The furnishings are outdated - think 90s-cottage style - functional but without much charm. With battery operated electric candles. There are some small things missing that could give a sense of freedom: barbecuing is not allowed, there is no firebowl, and the garden cannot be fenced, even though it was mentioned on the website.

Op basis van de advertentie op Natuurhuisje hadden we andere verwachtingen. We zochten een plek dicht bij de natuur, waar we even konden ontsnappen aan de drukte en genieten van rust en solitude.
Bij aankomst bleek dat het huisje deel uitmaakt van een straat met ongeveer achttien andere uniforme huisjes, dicht op elkaar in een strak aangelegd bospark. Het park wordt beheerd door een strenge beheerder met duidelijke regels: auto’s mogen niet bij het huisje, maar moeten op een centrale parking. Communicatie gebeurt via geautomatiseerde onpersoonlijke berichten. In het huisje zelf hoor je de buren nauwelijks, maar echt alleen ben je hier niet.
De inrichting is verouderd — denk aan jaren ’90-cottage stijl — functioneel maar zonder veel charme. Met elektrische kaarsen op batterij. Er missen wat kleine dingen die een gevoel van vrijheid zouden kunnen geven: barbecueën is niet toegestaan, er is geen vuurschaal, en de tuin kan niet omheind worden, terwijl dat op de website wel vermeld stond.
