Nature house in Akkrum

This brand-new water lodge is part of the Pean-buiten development. It is located on the southeast side, with views of the Wijde Ee, the Frisian countryside, and the Botmar (Fryske Gea nature reserve) surrounding Pean. The nature house can accommodate up to 6 people. This is the first water lodge at Pean-buiten to be available for rent starting at Pentecost 2020. By spring 2021, there will be a total of 12 spacious, luxurious, and unique water lodges. Each cabin offers ample privacy thanks to the wooded grounds and approximately 300 m² of surrounding space. Pean-buiten is separated from Pean’s other accommodations, hidden behind the vegetation, and is therefore in a very peaceful location. Amenities: the cottage features an attached terrace facing south and west, providing sun from morning until evening. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stovetop, oven, and range hood. The sitting area has two built-in sofas and a few loose chairs, so you can always find a cozy spot. The wood stove completes the atmosphere.

This water lodge is located in one of Friesland’s most beautiful boating areas, which includes the Wijde Ee, Grou, and the Alde Feanen National Park. Experience this beautiful area from the water by canoe, rowboat, motorboat, or sailboat. Thanks to its diversity, the waterways are ideal for both beginners and experienced water sports enthusiasts. In addition, there are various cycling and hiking opportunities in the area. The mix of meadows and waterways characterizes the Frisian landscape. You’ll find dining and cultural attractions in Akkrum, Grou, De Veenhoop, and Aldeboarn. Akkrum (4 km) is accessible via a long, winding road. Here you’ll find all the shops you need—a supermarket, butcher, bakery, drugstore, and some delightful restaurants. It’s also fun to rent a small boat and sail across to the other side. There you’ll find the village of Grou, home to the best ice cream shop in the area, several restaurants—and a real “Boot’schappen” pier. Cars are parked in the central parking lot, which has six charging stations; you can walk to your cottage with a luggage cart.
