Nature house in Hurwenen

Welcome to our beautiful and cozy nature house! A stone's throw from the river Waal and in the middle of a rural area lies the meandering Waal dike. On one side you see orchards, on the other side the beautiful floodplains of the Waal. Along that dike lies the cottage: a cozy Bommel dike house, exclusively available for third parties. Interested? During the renovation in 2019, only the exteriors remained, and even those have been substantially redone! Inside, it is surprisingly spacious with Scandinavian-style furnishings. You will find a loft, a sitting area, a dining table, a loft as a bedroom, a practical kitchen, a bathroom, a TV and good WiFi. The first floor has underfloor heating throughout. We live in the "big" house next to the nature house. You won't have any trouble from us, but we can advise you and help make your stay as pleasant as possible!

If you are a nature lover, this nature house lends itself ideally to beautiful biking and hiking trips. If you want to stay close by, the floodplains of the river Waal start right in front of the door. Nearby is the Hurnse kil, the nature reserve near our village of Hurwenen. This was created in 1639 in a cut-off river arm of the Waal. At high tide in the river the water flows through the area. As an extremely rich nature reserve, the Kil van Hurwenen is a popular place for birds and nature lovers, really very beautiful! If you want to go a little further afield, the Bommelerwaard itself and the Land of Maas and Waal offer plenty of opportunities for cycling trips. Restaurants are within walking and cycling distance and real cultural fun can be found in the beautiful town of Zaltbommel within cycling distance. If you really want to go to 'the city', you can reach 's-Hertogenbosch in 20 minutes by car. And if you do not want all that: just stay in the cottage itself or find a nice spot in the garden when the weather is nice.
