Nature house with lots of character from 1956, but secretly equipped with a minimum of comfort. The interior of this nature house is simple, but there is underfloor heating, wifi, a wood stove, a shower, a washing machine, a nespresso machine, ... In short, everything that will make your stay pleasant. The furniture consists mainly of recycled finds, the main intention is to live here outside! There is ample room for a family with two children, but there are 5 beds. This is also a super place for mountain bikers! Because it is a forest in the middle of nature reserve, you will not escape the occasional spider in a corner, bats on the terrace or an owl in the trees. On the property itself are a BBQ, a fire pit, a ping pong table and a large trampoline. On the covered terrace are tables and chairs. There is no TV, but there is wi-fi and a screen with chromecast. What is definitely not allowed? This property is not suitable for parties and no smoking is allowed anywhere, including outside.
Nature and surroundings
In the forest behind the nature house there are trails for mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking. The whole area behind the cottage is a nature reserve full of fauna and flora. In the distance there is a train and a road at 70m from the cottage with many cycling tourists. The speed for cars there is regulated at 50km/h. Walking tips: the Heidemolen with its fens, the Demer valley for open plains and the Abbey of Averbode for some culture and a delicious ice cream. Mountain bikers have the entire Hageland at their disposal with the Balenberg and the Bosberg nearby as well. The cottage is located between nodes 210 and 262.
