Nature house in Langdorp

For us, it was the shortest and worst vacation ever. We left after less than 48 hours. The photo looked promising, but it was a huge letdown. We found almost everything dirty, broken, uncomfortable, or a combination of all three. In our opinion, it really doesn’t have to be secondhand. The sofa cushion was torn, cutlery was stored in a wooden box on top of the fridge (which I don’t find hygienic), coffee pods were also in a wooden box—along with tea bags, flower seeds, and wet licorice pieces—the stove was greasy, there wasn’t a single frying pan with an undamaged nonstick coating, and the kitchen cabinet contained dirty (and cracked) dishes and glassware, as well as items left behind by previous tenants. Even in the bathroom cabinet (including a toothbrush—yuck). I find a thick layer of dust on the lamp disgusting; the faucet was completely peeling at the top and bottom. The dining area consisted of two small chairs and a corner shelf with what looked like pot holders serving as cushions.

Voor ons de kortste en slechtste vakantie ooit. Na nog geen 48 uur zijn we weg gegaan. Foto was veelbelovend. Maar het viel ons erg tegen. Wij vonden bijna alles vies, kapot, oncomfortabel of een combinatie. Tweedehands hoeft dat echt niet te zijn in onze ogen. De zitting van de bank was kapot geruld, bestek stond in een houten bak op de koelkast (vind ik niet hygiënisch), koffiecups lagen ook in een houten bak - samen met theezakjes, bloemzaadjes en natte dropjes, het fornuis was vettig, geen koekepan met onbeschadigde antiaanbaklaag, er stond vies (en gebarsten) servies en glaswerk in het keukenkastje en ook spullen van vorige huurders. Zelfs in het badkamerkastje (o.a. tandenborstel brrr). Een dikke stoflaag op de lamp vind ik vies, de kraan was onder- en bovenaan helemaal afgebladderd. De eethoek bestond uit 2 stoeltjes en een hoekplank met een soort pannelappen als kussens.

Bedroom 2 could only be accessed from bedroom 1. However, the door to the second bedroom was crooked and scraped against the floor, causing a lot of noise when opening and closing it. The slatted base (double bed) could be felt through the mattress. The fitted sheet on the bed didn’t look clean, and the bed frame was sticky. The doorknobs to the bedrooms were hanging off on both sides. There’s a busy road 70 meters from the cottage and there is a lot of traffic, which causes noise pollution. A busy railroad track nearby also generates a lot of noise. As a result, sitting outside wasn’t a pleasant experience. We were glad to leave, even though it cost us money. Staying would have cost us more—figuratively speaking.

Slaapkamer 2 was alleen te bereiken vanuit slaapkamer 1. Maar de deur naar 2e slaapkamer hing scheef en schraapte over de vloer waardoor er veel lawaai bij openen en sluiten was. De lattenbodem (2pers.bed) was voelbaar door de matras heen. Het hoeslaken op bed zag er niet schoon uit en het ledikant was geplakt. De deurklink naar de slaapkamers hing er aan beide kanten uit. Er is een drukke weg op 70 m van het huisje waar veel autos rijden en dat geeft geluidsoverlast. Ook een drukke spoorlijn vlakbij geeft veel lawaai. Buiten zitten was daardoor geen prettige ervaring. We waren blij daar weg te gaan, ondanks dat dat geld kostte. Blijven had ons figuurlijk meer gekost.

Een heerlijk huis met enorme tuin, waarin we heerlijk tot rust kwamen.

We enjoyed the house in the middle of the forest and, above all, being outdoors—whether around the fire pit or under the canopy when it rained. For us, the house was a wonderful place to relax.

We hebben midden in het bos genoten van het huis en vooral buiten zijn. Rond de vuurkorf of tijdens de regen onder de overkapping. Voor ons was het huis en heerlijk rustpunt.

The cottage itself isn't anything special, but it's just fine. Spacious and well-equipped for a family with 2–3 children. The yard surrounding the cottage is very spacious, with shaded areas and virtually no view from the street. When the temperature rises above 30 degrees, you’ll be very glad of that.

We didn’t do any of the activities listed in point 3, so I can’t comment on them. Hence, N/A.

Het huisje zelf springt er niet bovenuit maar het is gewoon goed. Ruim, goed gefaciliteerd voor een gezin met 2-3 kinderen. De tuin om het huisje is zeer ruim, met schaduwplaatsen en zo goed als geen inkijk. Als de temperatuur boven de 30 graden uitkomt, ben je er heel blij mee.

Geen van de activiteiten bij punt 3 is gedaan dus daar kan ik geen oordeel over geven. Vandaar n.v.t.
