Nature house in Moelv

Eastern Norway, Norway

Detached | On a yard | Cottage
  • 8 persons
  • 4 bedrooms
  • WiFi
  • Pets not allowed

A well-isolated wooden house of 184 sq m, on top of a hill (550 masl), at the end of a 2 km private road, with a breathtaking view across lake Mjøsa. Quiet and peaceful. A large garden with terraces, fireplace and sauna. Direct access to hiking trails and to cross country tracks. It’s a magnificent place to relax and to experience the beauty of nature. A place to be. There’s also a lot to do in the area; culture is nearby. It’s a great starting point to explore Eastern and Central Norway. The house is suitable for 2 to 8 persons. There are 3 bed rooms, two with double beds (both 160x200) and one with a bunk bed (120x200 down and 90x200 up). The living room upstairs can be used as a 4th bed room: there’s a sleeping sofa (160x200). All beds have top mattresses. In the storage room upstairs we have 2 beds for babies/toddlers (60x120) which can be easily placed in one of the bed rooms. In the storage room you also find extra bed linen, blankets, towels, and so on.

Nature and surroundings

If you want to go for a walk you don’t have to drive anywhere. Immediately when you step out of the front door you have access to three trails which are connected to a vast network. These trails are also very suitable for mountain biking and horse riding. In wintertime, usually from around November to the end of April, you can use the tracks for cross country skiing. You could also go for back country skiing. If you’re more a fan of downhill skiing (on a prepared slope) you can drive to Sjusjøen or Hafjell (Lillehammer), respectively a 25 and 45 minute drive. As our propery is located quite centrally in Eastern Norway it’salso a great starting point for (multiple) day trips. For instance, it takes you about a 2 to 3 hours drive to the highest mountains of Norway, in Jotunheimen. To go to Oslo, the capital city, takes you 2 hours by car. You could also take the train from Moelv. In the house there are plenty of books, brochures, maps and so on about what to do in Norway.
