The house is a monumental former wheelwright's shop from 1824 with living house, workshop, separate storage barn and bakery, with many original details. It is located in Terhofstede near Retranchement, a few kilometers from Knokke and Cadzand. It has a fantastic view of the Zeeland-Flemish countryside. The view can be admired from the large sitting room in the old workshop with seating, TV with DVD and Chromecast, dining area and wood stove. Adjacent to the sitting room is the simple bathroom and a hallway with the toilet and the bakery with a simple bunk bed (for children up to 12 years old). The workshop is connected with a step to the living kitchen and behind it the first large bedroom with double bed. Finally, a staircase leads to the other two bedrooms, each with a double bed. The house is for rent per week from Friday evening 17.00 hours to Friday morning 11.00 hours. Outside the high season midweek rentals are also available.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house has a large natural garden of 0.15 ha with an idyllic private front garden, two terraces, and a backyard with large trees, a pond and many species of birds and amphibians. In the immediate vicinity the landscape is beautiful with many natural areas and historic fortifications and beautiful nature. The sea is 2.5 kilometers and easily accessible by bike. Het Zwin, a huge nature reserve that also has beautiful wild beaches, starts less than a kilometer away. The historic cities of Bruges and Damme are also nearby at 15 kilometers. Music festivals are held here in the summer, including the Musica antica festival.Golf can be played 5 kilometers away in Oostburg. The region is also known for its many good restaurants, including many Michelin stars.
