The beautifully crafted cabin sits on the edge of a wonderful woodland. It’s furnished in a rustic, romantic style and is the perfect hideaway for two people. The cabin is off grid, there is no mains power, we use solar energy for lights. Inside there's a cosy seating area with a wood-burning stove (which also heats the shower water). There are guide books to the area and local flora and fauna as well as art materials, fishing gear and much more. There's a well-equipped kitchen/dining area with gas oven and fridge and your basic culinary items. There's a shower-room with composting loo, basin and shower. Up the handmade staircase is a simply furnished bedroom with one double bed (1.4m x 1.9m) and views out over the lake. Outside is a terrace with seating and down by the water is a BBQ, a couple of hammocks and a raft for exploring the lake. We provide bedding and towels and a few basic toiletries as well as a bottle of wine and a few cold beers so you can relax the moment you arrive.

Nature wraps herself around the cabin. Birds flit between the trees, butterflies drift over wildflowers and you might even see the occasional red squirrel dart through the branches. Depending on the season, you may spot (or hear!) frogs by the water, fish jumping or mysterious mushrooms sprouting in the forest. With low light pollution, the night skies will amaze you, you might even see the Milky Way. We provide maps for the many off-road tracks that wind through the woodland and open countryside, perfect for walking or cycling. Or pop in to Piégut for fresh croissants, warm French bread and the lively Wednesday market, packed with local produce and so 'convivial'! Discover ancient caves, chateaux and the rolling green landscape of the Périgord Vert. Thousands of lakes dot the region and several nearby offer sandy beaches, swimming and cafés by the water. However you choose to spend your days, the cabin is a peaceful retreat at the heart of nature.
