The beautifully crafted nature house Cabin sits on the edge of a tree-huggingly wonderful wood. It’s furnished in a rustic, romantic style and is the perfect hideaway for two people. The cabin is off grid and uses solar energy for lights. Inside there's a cosy seating area with a wood-burning stove (which also heats the shower water). There are guide books to the area and local flora and fauna as well as art materials, fishing gear and much more. There's a well-equipped kitchen/dining area with gas oven and fridge and your basic culinary items. There's a shower-room with composting loo, basin and shower. Up the handmade staircase is a simply furnished bedroom with one double bed and views out over the lake. Outside is a terrace with seating and down by the water is a BBQ, a couple of hammocks and a raft for exploring the lake. We provide bedding and towels and a few basic toiletries as well as a bottle of wine and a few cold beers so you can relax the moment you arrive.

Depending on the season, you may spot (or hear!) frogs by the water, fish jumping or mysterious mushrooms sprouting in the forest. We provide maps for the many off-road tracks that wind through the woodland and open countryside, perfect for walking or cycling. Or pop in to Piégut for fresh croissants, warm French bread and the lively Wednesday market, packed with local produce and so 'convivial'! Discover ancient caves, chateaux and the rolling green landscape of the Périgord Vert. Thousands of lakes dot the region and several nearby offer sandy beaches, swimming and cafés by the water. However you choose to spend your days, the cabin is a peaceful retreat at the heart of nature.

Bob and Diane are the sweetest Nature House owners you can imagine. Respond immediately if anything is needed (off grid toilet change, car battery dead, they come right out to help you out). What a beautiful place, a lovely cottage on a lovely lake where you can use the raft to float around, rug on it, drink there, great. All days it was bright summer weather, had all the privacy we wanted and everything was in bloom, the birds and frogs let themselves be heard beautifully. Truly a place to enjoy peace, nature and each other. Our old faithful dog was able to stroll, swim and walk all days without a collar. We will miss the laps around the lake immensely! The off grid is a fun challenge, stoking a fire to get hot water and really no internet when your 4/5G runs out (wifi at the Intermarché!) and wonderful sleeping so in the middle of nature!
