This sleeping cabin offers comfort and two nice beds. It is simply furnished, but with a comfortable bed, a table and chairs, a kettle and basic kitchen utensils, you can enjoy the atmosphere of camping without having to bring a lot of stuff. There is a mattress and pillow, you bring your own bedding/sleeping bag. There is garden furniture and you can enjoy the sun. Also 1 dog is welcome, if camping proof! You use the sanitary facilities of the campsite in the farmhouse and you can use the gas stove and refrigerator in the campsite kitchen. The sleeping cabin is located on a nature camping site for 4 tents. There are 5 sleeping cabins available. Please note that it can be cold in spring (April) or fall (late September/October). The cabins are not insulated and have no heating. Bring an extra blanket and/or rent a camping stove (max. 800 watts) locally so it feels less chilly. It is and remains a form of camping :-)
Nature and surroundings
The environment is special and surprising. Stream valleys, slightly undulating, winding rivers, forest, many nature reserves and lots of walking, cycling and canoeing opportunities (also with the dog!). They also call this area the Drenthe of Groningen or the pearl of Westerwolde. Also a large mountain bike network and many attractions. In the vicinity is also a tropical swimming pool, a possibility for water skiing and wakeboarding, various museums, monasteries and a castle in Wedde, the fortified town of Bourtange, seal spotting in Fiemel, watching a cruise ship being built in Papenburg, Germany, shopping in Leer or the city of Groningen, day German Wadden Island Borkum, a fairytale forest in Ter Apel or a dinosaur park in Wedde, the zoo in Emmen ... all within about half an hour.
