Nature house in Castellazo

It’s a unique, handmade nature house; even the bathroom features many natural details.

You can always find a nice spot in the garden to sit. During our stay, the temperature was consistently between 30 and 35 degrees, but it was very comfortable because there was almost always a light breeze.

Je kunt altijd wel een fijn plekje in de tuin vinden om te zitten. Tijdens ons verblijf was het steeds tussen de 30 en 35 graden, maar heel prima uit te houden omdat er bijna altijd wel een beetje wind stond.

A beautiful setting where you can enjoy nature in complete peace and quiet. From the cottage, you can go on lovely hikes and take in the stunning views of the Pyrenees. You’ll see and hear many birds, such as the griffon vulture, booted eagle, bee-eater, and golden oriole—and, if you’re lucky, wild boars.

There are also lovely spots nearby where you can walk along the river and cool off in the water.

About a half-hour drive away is the charming town of Aínsa, where you can fill up on gas, do some grocery shopping, and buy some nice souvenirs.

Een prachtige omgeving waar je in alle rust van de natuur kunt genieten. Vanaf het huisje kun je mooie wandelingen maken en genieten van de mooie uitzichten op de Pyreneeën. Je hoort en ziet veel vogels zoals de vale gier, dwergarend, bijeneter en de wielewaal, en als je geluk hebt wilde zwijntjes.

In de omgeving zijn ook fijne plekken om langs de rivier te wandelen en af te koelen in het water.

Op ongeveer een half uur rijden ligt het mooie plaatsje Aínsa, waar je kunt tanken, boodschappen doen en leuke souvenirs kunt kopen.

It was truly fantastic. The only minor issue is that it was very hot this month. The thin curtains don't block out the heat well enough. A fan is a must during the hot months. But other than that, we really enjoyed the space and the peace and quiet.

Echt fantastisch. Enig puntje is dat het deze maand zeer warm was. De dunne gordijntjes houden de warmte niet voldoende tegen. Een ventilator in de warme maanden is een pré. Maar verder hebben we enorm genoten van de ruimte en de rust.

A very charming and beautifully built cottage. The “garden” is lovely and, thankfully, offers plenty of shade. We enjoyed the night sky from our lounge chairs without a trace of light pollution. The route to the cottage is quite challenging, but breathtakingly beautiful. You can easily prepare your own meals, but there’s also a fantastic restaurant in Arcusa. Our host, Margot, is caring, super friendly, and very helpful. Having the kitten around was a bonus for us :)

Zeer fraai en prachtig gebouwd huisje. De ‘tuin’ is heerlijk met gelukkig voldoende schaduw. In luie stoelen genoten van de nachtelijke hemel zonder een spoortje lichtvervuiling. De route naar het huisje is bichtig uitagend, maar adembenemend mooi. Prima eigen maaltijden kunnen bereiden, maar in Arcusa is ook een geweldig goed restaurant. Gastvrouw Margot is zorgzaam, superleuk en zeer behulpzaam. De gezelschap van het katje was voor ons een plus :)

Really almost at the end of the world you find a nature house that really deserves that name. From your bed you look up against a ceiling of bare, but otherwise unprocessed tree trunks that has been artfully sealed with natural materials (which is not true of the entire cottage: not entirely air- and watertight. Environment almost deserted and therefore quiet. At night beautiful skies at sunset. Facilities are sober, but more than adequate. And that everything seems to have been sought together is part of the charm. Garden is lovely. On the sill in the sun too.

Echt bijna aan het einde van de wereld vind je een natuurhuisje dat echt die naam verdient. Je kijkt vanuit je bed tegen een plafond aan van kale, maar verder onbewerkte boomstammen dat kunstig met natuurlijke materialen is dichtgemaakt (wat niet voor het hele huisje geldt: niet geheel lucht- en waterdicht. Hetgeen geen problemen oplevert overigens).

Omgeving vrijwel uitgestorven en dus stil. ‘s Avonds prachtige luchten bij zonsondergang.

Voorzieningen zijn sober, maar meer dan afdoende. En dat alles bij elkaar gezocht lijkt te zijn is een deel van de charme.

Tuin is heerlijk. Op de dorpel in het zonnetje ook.
