Nature house in Curtis

It’s a beautiful little cottage. It’s the smallest of the three there, but we thought it was the most charming. It has a private terrace where you can sit, with a natural spring and a view of the beautiful old granary. We also had the horse keeping us company. The cold water was delicious to drink. It’s been renovated in a traditional style—beautiful and rustic, with great attention to detail. The owners are a lovely couple—warm and helpful. Everything you need is there, and it looks brand new. It’s very clean. All the windows have screens—a real luxury. We were able to spend a lot of time sitting outside in the shade.

Het is een prachtig huisje. De kleinste van de 3 die er staan maar wel de charmanste vonden wij. Het heeft een vrij terras om te zitten met een stromende natuur waterbron en uitzicht op de mooie oude graanschuur. We hadden ook gezelschap van het paard. Het koude water was heerlijk om te drinken. Karakteristiek gerenoveerd, mooi en landelijk met veel oog voor detail. De eigenaren zijn een leuk stel, hartelijk en behulpzaam. Alles is er aanwezig en oogt als nieuw. Het is er zeer schoon. De ramen hebben allemaal horren, super luxe. We hebben veel buiten kunnen zitten in de schaduw.

This charming little house is located in a small hamlet nestled in the beautiful, green, rolling countryside between Curtis and Teixeiro. You’ll find yourself among the locals, who are busy haying and washing clothes at the water source. Birds are chirping away, and the neighbors’ dogs come to greet you. Chickens and goats roam freely further down in the village. It’s a half-hour drive to the beach. Just around the corner are the beautiful waterfalls, the monastery, and the Camino. Santiago de Compostela is 40 minutes away. There’s plenty of wooded area for hiking and picnicking. We also did some driving around to escape the sweltering heat. It’s never been 38°C in Galicia before. We discovered that you can drive right through the woods and countryside because there are roads everywhere, no matter how steep or narrow they are. This offered beautiful views of the valleys, and that’s how we discovered many small mountain villages.

Op het mooie groene glooiende platteland tussen Curtis en Teixeiro is het gehuchtje te vinden waar dit charmante huisje staat. Je zit tussen de locals die druk bezig zijn met hooien en wassen bij de waterbron. Vogels kwetteren er op los, honden van de buren komen je begroeten. De kippen en geiten lopen verderop in het dorpje los rond. In een half uur rijd je naar het strand. Om de hoek de prachtige watervallen, het klooster en de Camino. Santiago de Compostella is 40 minuten hier vandaan. Er is volop bosgebied om te wandelen en picknicken. Wij hebben ook wat getourd met de auto om te ontkomen van het snikhete weer. Nooit eerder is het in Galacïa 38 C geweest. We ontdekte dat je dwars door bos en landschap kan gaan omdat er overal wegen liggen hoe stijl en smal het ook is. Dit leverde mooie uitzichten op over de valleien en zo ontdekte we veel kleine bergdorpjes.
