Nature house in Coo

A very nice, well maintained cottage, with a beautiful view of just greenery. Cozy warmth by the wood stove. Definitely recommended, we will definitely come back again!!!

The cottage was lovely. Nice location, nicely decorated, nice terrace and nice that there is a wood stove and a nice bathroom. We did have a discussion beforehand and during our stay about whether there were two bedrooms or not. We thought it was a two-bedroom cottage with the possibility of converting furniture in the living room for extra beds. With two bedrooms, you also expect fixed beds. By the way, the support from the owner was fine

Het huisje was heerlijk. Mooi gelegen, mooi ingericht, mooi terras en fijn dat er een houtkachel is en een mooie badkamer. We hadden wel vooraf en tijdens ons verblijf een discussie over de vraag of er twee slaapkamers zijn of niet. Wij vonden het een tweepersoons huisje met de mogelijkheid om meubels in de woonkamer om te bouwen voor extra slaapplaatsen. Je verwacht bij twee slaapkamers ook vaste bedden. The pictures and the description are very misleading. The cottage is much smaller than expected and there is nowhere to infer that the second bedroom is just a part of the living area that you can close off with a curtain. Also, the open, steep stairs in the cottage and the balustrade are very dangerous for young children (without a potty, they would have to take the stairs to the toilet even at night). Since the kids go to sleep around 7:30 p.m., we could not chat, watch TV or turn on the light inside after that. Fortunately, the nice weather allowed us to sit outside on the terrace for a bit. Price-quality of the house did not meet expectations; for that price you expect decent rooms and for example also a microwave and air conditioning. The house was clean, the host was friendly and the decor was cozy (candles everywhere). It smells a bit musty, but there are fragrances. Good walk-in shower too. Landlord's Response: We are sorry to hear that the cottage did not fully meet your expectations. We value feedback from our guests and have therefore updated the description and photos to give future guests an even better idea. To be clear: there is a combi oven (so also microwave), but no air conditioning, which is also not mentioned in the ad (fortunately, due to its location in the hillside, the cottage stays pleasantly cool in summer). De foto s en de beschrijving zijn heel misleidend. Het huisje is veel kleiner dan verwacht en er is nergens uit af te leiden dat de tweede slaapkamer gewoon een deel van de woonruimte is dat je kan afsluiten met een gordijn. Ook de open, steile trap in het huisje en de balustrade zijn erg gevaarlijk voor jonge kinderen (zonder plaspotje zouden ze ook s nachts de trap moeten nemen naar het toilet).
Gezien de kindjes rond 19u30 gaan slapen, konden wij daarna binnen niet meer babbelen, tv kijken of het licht aansteken. Gelukkig konden we dankzij het mooie weer nog wat buiten op het terras zitten.
Prijs-kwaliteit voldeed het huisje niet aan de verwachtingen; voor die prijs verwacht je degelijke kamers en bijvoorbeeld ook een microgolfoven en airco. We waren bewust een prijsklasse hoger gegaan voor meer comfort.
Het huisje was wel netjes, de gastheer vriendelijk en de inrichting gezellig (overal kaarsjes ed.). Het ruikt wat muf, maar er staan geurtjes. Goede inloop douche ook.

We vinden het jammer te horen dat het huisje niet volledig aan jullie verwachtingen voldeed. We hechten veel waarde aan de feedback van onze gasten en hebben daarom de omschrijving en foto’s aangepast, zodat toekomstige gasten een nog beter beeld krijgen. Voor alle duidelijkheid: er is een combi-oven aanwezig (dus ook microgolf), maar geen airco, wat ook niet in de advertentie vermeld staat (door de ligging in de heuvel blijft het huisje gelukkig wel aangenaam fris in de zomer). Nogmaals hartelijk dank dat jullie bij ons verbleven en voor het delen van jullie ervaring!

From the cottage itself you have some views between the trees, but less than we expected. Given the terrain behind the terrace is very steep downhill, it was not safe for the children to explore the area.
It is cozy sitting on the spacious terrace (tip: put some breadcrumbs or corn in the bowl and the birds will come right by), both during the day and in the evening (good orientation and privacy), but the vacation park itself has very little to offer. The children could play in a small sandbox on a so-called playing field with lots of shade and some benches, but that was all. The center of Coo is theoretically within walking distance, but then you have to go along the track with no footpath, which is also not safe for children. The spacious surroundings of Coo and Stavelot are fat okay.

Vanaf het huisje zelf heb je wat uitzicht tussen de bomen door, maar minder dan we verwacht hadden. Gezien het terrein achter het terras heel steil naar beneden loopt, was het voor de kinderen niet veilig om de omgeving te verkennen.
Het is gezellig zitten op het ruime terras (tip: leg wat broodkruimels of mais in de schaal en de vogeltjes komen meteen langs), zowel overdag als 's avonds (goede oriëntatie en privacy), maar het vakantiepark zelf heeft heel weinig te bieden. De kinderen konden in een kleine zandbak spelen op een zgn. speelweide met veel schaduw en wat bankjes, maar das was dan ook alles.
Het centrum van Coo ligt in theorie op wandelafstand, maar dan moet je langs de baan gaan zonder voetpad, wat ook niet veilig is voor kinderen. De ruime omgeving van Coo en Stavelot is wel dik oké.
