Welcome to our nature house! The cottage is wonderfully quiet on the inside of the dike in Brakel, surrounded by greenery. With a nature reserve and various hiking and cycling trails next door, you have plenty of opportunities to explore the area. Rather spend a day around the cottage? Relax on your private terrace, surrounded by trees and greenery. The cottage is located in a private part of the garden with its own driveway, so our guests have plenty of privacy. The cottage is compact, but has everything you need. Discover for yourself how we played with the layout to make sure you feel right at home. The best part is that this cottage invites you to go outside. Whether you sit on your own terrace, walk with your bare feet in the grass or walk up the dike for a great view over the river Waal.... the lovely surroundings bring you well-deserved peace and quiet - feel welcome! - Includes bath and bed linens. - Includes separate induction stove and cooking utensils.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the Bommelerwaard, within walking distance of the river Waal and nature reserve Munnikenland. A beautiful area, where water, culture and nature have been intertwined for centuries. In the Munnikenland large grazers have been released, such as herds of (wild) Konik horses and the Red Geus cattle. The Munnikenland is also an area for walking and cycling. You can walk along the river Waal or on the bicycle/hiking path to Slot Loevestein. There are also several wooden shoe paths in the area. The cottage is located just next to the dike. We walk up the dike every day for the beautiful view and to get a breath of fresh air. Are you a fan of history and culture? Our house is a monumental dike house of 200 years old. Along the dike you will find several signs that show what the dike used to look like and what has changed since then. Or take the ferry to the cozy fortified town of Gorinchem. And of course, a day trip to Zaltbommel cannot be missed.
