Nature house in Saint-Moreil

This Nature House is a wonderful place hidden in the heart of the Limousin. Our hamlet consists of a water mill, a farm and a baker's cottage. The cottage has been completely renovated into a cozy 2-person cottage, equipped with all modern conveniences, while respecting the original style. There is underfloor heating hidden under antique French tiles. A modern wood stove now adorns the old fireplace where the bread oven was once used. Windows and doors have been replaced with double-glazed windows while retaining the century-old oak frames. On the ground floor is a comfortable sitting area by the wood stove, an open kitchen with modern appliances, a dining area and a bathroom with toilet, sink and spacious walk-in shower. The mezzanine with balustrade is furnished with a bed (160x200) and a chest of drawers. The bedroom overlooks the living room downstairs and, with large casement windows, also the garden. The baker's cottage is completely detached and has a spacious private garden with terrace and garden furniture.

This Nature House is very quietly located, at the end of a paved road, 5 km outside the village of Saint-Moreil. It borders a lake and a stream in a valley surrounded by hills, forest and meadows. The beautiful surroundings are perfect for hiking and cycling. Directly from the cottage there are numerous hiking and mountain bike trails. We have 3 MTBs available for free. Also for cyclists there are many quiet paved roads in the immediate vicinity. You can swim in the lake in front of the house or in the nearby reservoir Lac Sainte-Hélène with beach. In Saint-Moreil there is a small market on Thursday evenings and a small pub is open on Thursday through Saturday evenings. For other amenities one can go to one of the nearby medieval towns. This Nature House is also a good base for all kinds of excursions in the region, such as the pleasant city of Limoges, the impressive museum village of Oradour-sur-Glane and the Lac de Vassivière with various water sports facilities.
