This nature house is situated in a very peaceful location, at the end of a paved road, 5 km outside the village of Saint-Moreil. It borders a lake and a stream in a small valley surrounded by hills, woods, and meadows. The beautiful surroundings are ideal for hiking and biking. There are numerous hiking and mountain biking trails starting right from the cottage. We have 3 mountain bikes available free of charge. For road cyclists, there are also many quiet, paved roads in the immediate vicinity. You can swim in the lake right outside the cottage or in the nearby Lac Sainte-Hélène reservoir, which has a beach. In Saint-Moreil, there’s a small market on Thursday evenings, and a small pub is open Thursday through Saturday evenings. For other amenities, you can visit one of the nearby medieval towns. Nothing to complain about. The owners, Loes and Jan, are also very friendly and welcoming. There’s a nice, clear folder with all the important information about the area and the cottage. Homemade jams and eggs from their chickens were waiting for us upon arrival—very thoughtful and nice!!

We were there during a heat wave, and even though it was nearly 40 degrees during the day, it stayed cool inside (a blessing!). In the evenings and at night, it cooled down nicely thanks to its location—right in the middle of a wooded area near the lake. This meant we could still go for walks and enjoy nature in the mornings and from early evening onward. We spotted 56 unique bird species. It’s a truly unique and beautiful spot in nature, offering complete privacy.

Hierdoor konden we ‘s ochtends en vanaf de vroege avond toch wandelen en genieten van de natuur. We hebben 56 unieke vogelsoorten ontdekt. Het is een unieke prachtige plek in de natuur met alle privacy.
